[04:32:13] EVE System > Channel changed to Gulfonodi Local Channel [04:33:30] Angry Missioner > Conquistador, I don't remember inviting you along for my mission. Since you're here. Why don't you make yourself useful and shoot at the enemy rats? No? Just going to steal and run then? A shame... [04:34:07] YA_Angry Missioner > pod him, pod him [04:34:09] Angry Missioner > Oh. I forgot to mention. Watch out for that proximity agro. Its nasty. [04:40:54] Angry Missioner > Hmm. Actually, while you're still a thief Conquistador, not to mention scum, I must admit. It is handy having you tank so many enemy BB's. Still. I hate you just the same. [04:43:09] Angry Missioner > Now be a good ore thief and go aggro the rest of them, yes? [04:43:17] Angry Missioner > I mean salvage theif. [04:43:22] Angry Missioner > Get you thieves mixed up sometimes.
I was trying to decide which way I wanted to go (career - wise) in this game when I entered the system and saw this in local. I bought a book on Astrometrics, and went back and did the tutorial mission to get a Probe and a Salvager.
The wrecks belong to whoever salvages them first, not to who makes them. You can keep the loot, at least until I get a bigger ship with which to play. |

Miners and missioners are the most ill-mannered, immature and generally mal-adjusted people I've ever met in EVE. Honestly I don't think I've ever been insulted by a ninja or a pirate.

It's concerning when a person's emotional stake in the game is so high it affects their real life.
People can play however they like; a mixture of pirates and miners, mission runners and warring corporations, it all makes the game interesting. I think as long as you don't expect others to play any particular way you'll keep having fun.
Having said that, I hate you all.

That made me laugh :) Talk about the local smack being counter-productive.
That said, if you know the mission hubs and you actively probe and salvage, you can make so much isk, so fast, especially as a new player.
And all it takes is a bit of patience while learning the basic Astrio/probing skills. Takes a bit of reading up to get the hang of it, which might be why not more people are actually doing it.
Enjoy your salvage (and the inevitable local smacktalk) -------------------------------------------------- "Every complex problem has a solution which is easy, neat and wrong!" |
