Hi, I did my 1st ninja salvage job yesterday and after getting a bit bored decided to steal some of the loot as well. My little destroyer got destroyed by the mission runner and i went back to grab my ceptor for some lulz but the missioner was hiding :(
I'd like some advice on what ship to train for if i want to greif mission runners. I can fly a crusader reasonably well and a cruiser badly but i'm guessing neither of them could take down a CNR. At the moment i am aiming for a prophecy but am worried that it won't have the cap to run a neut and that some form of neut is essential to stop them from repping.
And advice appreciated thanks.

Study the loadouts for mission runners, fit a ship accordingly.
*tip* Most mission running ships are active tanked with no tackle. Fit a ship to drain their cap and you'll win.
Have a plan ready in case your mark has decent t2 drone skills. |

^ for gank BS, yes.
Make sure to fit neuts, as many mission runners put huge emphasis on having things cap-stable. you don't even need to do that much DPS, as the rats will help you.
[Phoon, Gank-Phoon]
High: 4x Arbalest Siege Launcher, CN Mjolnir Torpedoes 3x Heavy Unstable Power Fluctuator 1x Medium Unstable Power Fluctuator
Mids: Stasis Web II 100MN AB II Warp Disruptor II Heavy Cap Booster II
Lows: 2x BCS II 3x EANM II 1x Damage Control II 1x 1600mm RT Plate
Rigs: 3x Trimark
With level 5 skills.. ..it gets 823 DPS (Ogre II drones included), 3400 volley. ..376m/s, 15s align time. ..95,000 EHP. .. 1800 cap drained from the heavy neuts. 600 cap every 8 seconds nomnomnom. Med neut drains 180 cap every 12 seconds.

Nightmare is pretty good I hear
going a wee bit more cost effective pretty much any battleship with a few neuts attached
just don't forget your rigs and good ammo..... lost a geddon to a cnr once, he was going into armor as I was about to go pop, If I had my rigs and faction ammo I would like to think things would have gone differently

since I am giving up this field due to so many of you ***s overdoing a good thing (in salvage/steal, get aggro, return with gank)
So far the ship I had the most success with
[Rokh, DIE DIE DIE mission ***] Damage Control II Power Diagnostic System II Ballistic Control System II Ballistic Control System II Ballistic Control System II
Heavy Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 800 Heavy Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 800 Warp Disruptor II X-Large C5-L Emergency Shield Overload I Invulnerability Field II 100MN Afterburner II
Siege Missile Launcher II, Guristas Bane Torpedo Siege Missile Launcher II, Guristas Bane Torpedo Siege Missile Launcher II, Guristas Bane Torpedo Siege Missile Launcher II, Guristas Bane Torpedo Heavy Unstable Power Fluctuator I Heavy Unstable Power Fluctuator I Heavy Unstable Power Fluctuator I Heavy Unstable Power Fluctuator I
Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer I
Hammerhead II x5
After you make enough money off mission runner faction mods, start replacing your own mods with faction.
l2 use med cans to hold more cap booster 800's. Get an alt in a basilisk to feed you cap, shield if you really want to **** them off. |

Buzzard. If they lack tanking skillz and look like theyre in trouble simply cruise up to them, decloak and bump the hell out of them so they cant warp away and die.
then loot said idiot and returnto either finich thier mission or wait for them to turn up again and repeat.

You can really tell the noobs at this too. People have been running anti-ninja missions and getting a LOT of nice lootz off of the ships they come back in. But hey, thats the FUN! Is this a noob mission runner or are 4 BS waiting to nail my "Ransom Ship" when I pop back in? Man I love this game.

1) Probe missioner with a t1 probing frig 2) Steal loot 3) wait for pilot to shoot you 4) come back in torp raven
Torp raven will do to mission runners in 20 seconds what any other ship here can do in a 2 minute fight. |

Well thing is, the mission-runner popped your dessie because they are easy to kill. If you show up in the mission in a Rohk, or Phoon, or any of the other idiotic suggestions people have made, the mission runner won't fire at you --- because battleships are not as easy to kill as a dessie.
Your best bet is a well tanked cruiser with an afterburner, ideally going up against a Raven. Buffered vexor might work if you have good drone skills. Or maybe a Celestis if the victim has rats on him. Possibly a damp Caracal if you can survive the first few attacks. Doubtful that the mission-runner will engage something like a Thorax or Ruppie though. Key is to make yourself look like a believable easy target.

for your reading pleasure i present you with some Srius knowledge. if your goal is just to salvage and not steal and get agro to kill people then use a minmatar frig. i prefer the rifter for having 4/3/3, but my counterpart Sol'Kanar insists its a waste of money and will only use a slasher. we have been known to do a vigil before, because vigils are awsome.
okay, so you have chosen a ship. AB it, and throw some speed mods in the lows. if your going to steal then dont overdo the ODs or dont use a rifter since it has poor cargo. maybe both.
next step, get an alt to probe for you. runs so much faster. if you insist on doing it all with one ship/character then just do your races astrometics ship and cry yourself to sleep because you do it so slowly.
if you plan to steal for agro and do not really care about the salvage or loot, then just get the fastest thing you can. you only really need to steal once and while waiting for a lock/agression just salvage a little to make them angry. usually this wont take long. your normal responses will be laid out below in a crappy manner.
lock---does nothing | ---shoots wreaks. in this case be sure to go to every wreak. theres still hope for this guy, but not much. they seem to think they are hurting you. amusing. | ---he warps out. this tactic is common and must register in their minds as "if i leave theyll instantly die, thus i win!" in this case come back in 5-10. 50/50 says he will be back. fair chance of still getting a fight out of him | ---he ignores you. notice for a momment. is he in an npc corp? never been in a player corp? 5.0 sec status? id be willing to bet hes some sort of asian running multiple computers, or a macro. no, i have no basis for this, but they seem so robotic they might as well be. | ---he shoots. time to get paid.

Naw.. Your not trying hard enough.. If he doesn't lock then your not abusing them enough. Salvage as much as you can. Loot. Trigger all the rats. Bump them around and around and around.. Mission runners love abuse.

bring in the neuts, most of us carebears use active tanks. Also, bring in big, get them good and scared so you can loot the cans and salvage while they just sit there and scream obscenities. |

Heres a good setup for ganking mission carebears
http://www.battleclinic.com/eve_online/pk/view.php?type=player&name=Julien+makka&id=5451206&page=3&filter=losses#mail
I think this guy normally relies on getting aggro and having a corpmate in basilisk coming in to remote shield rep him while he neuts victim. Mustn't have worked out in this particular case.
