title says it all really. would i be right in sayin that if u fly your own races ships then u receive bonuses?
is so, are the bonuses that great that i really should be stickin to ships that are my own race? (gallente)

Anyone that doesn't fly at least 2 races is destined to monotonous whining on forums about FotM when its not their race's.
I'm spec'ed in everything that has no reliance on drones.

It doesn't matter what race you are. If you have the required skills you can fly and use anything, recieving any related bonuses.

...and what I can't fly yet, I'm training for (and appropriate gear too).

I can fly all race ships except Minmatar unless you count the Minmatar shuttle...
You don't get a bonus for flying your own race's ships other than the small amount of time saved at the start because you already have some frig skills in that race.

I fly amarr ships and I dont get damage bonus's for lasers on my prophecy or punisher, see?

I didn't quite get all you said in your original post because I'm not fluent in illiterate ret@rd. But yeah, I pretty much took cross-training as a natural progression in the game.

I only fly Gallente ships for role-playing reasons as well as wanting to specialize. My skills are spread out in pretty much every other area, so I try to at least stick to my own race's ships (and the associated support skills: drones, hybrid guns, armor, etc).
I wouldn't mind seeing a small bonus to flying your own race's ships. I'd like to see more people flying their own race's ships instead of whatever is popular at the time. |

Whats with the "bonus's" thing? That's not the correct way to make the word plural. I'd expect that in Kentucky at an ice cream shack, but surprised to see it here on the Eve forums. |

Having skills in 2 Racial groups is optimal. Not just base skills, skills to fly them right.
An Amarr pilot that can fly Caldari well will only improve both. If it takes you 5 minutes to get through my shield and I am armor tanked, you won't be seeing my hull. |

I R Caldari that cross trained to Amarr for the Sac, then trained lasers for the Zealot, then trained up to an Abaddon, then trained rail guns to go with my 6Mil in gunnery and I had decent drone skills and wanted to try a Domi and a Hyperion...
So with that being said...

i can fly up to the hurricane for minmatar, and up to the merlin for the caldari
i only cross trained caldari because i went through a phase when i was in love with the kestrel for some reason :-/
but that was only like a two week thing, i still specialize in gallente related skills though for the most part, at the least until i can fly battleship fully t2 fitted (still need large t2 guns  )
after i can get a full t2 blasterthron, ill probably cross train Minmatar, since alot of my corp flies minmatar anyway, itl help if they need things moved or whatnot |

On the one hand, sure sounds like someone's got the jealous bug. On the other hand Akita, you are just finishing training small blasters which is kinda hysterical. ;) Then again I have like 10m more sp than you and not trained jack in missiles, so I'll just stfu!
Still, to each their own though. Don't worry so much about how you should fly something because people will yell at you until they're blue in the face about how you SHOULD fly it. Worry more about your own fun and success and realize that the true difference between a 5m and a 50m sp player is really experience.
PS ironic Akita, we have the exact opposites in ship choices for the cruiser 5's we've done to date. Race ya! ;)

Well, to be honest, most of the past year was almost exclusively ships/missiles/gunnery/drones training, and it's still nowhere close to where I want it to be... yup, I had far less than a third of my total SP in ships/misiles/gunnery/drones in early 2008

I been training almost nothing but gunnery/spaceship command/drones the last year or so (and am planning about another year of almost all guns and ships, and well when I started playing my friend told me int was the most important, so well I got 11 base 
my alt is achura and well was supposed to be a miner/industry, so 14 base int, and well he has been on a heavy load of spaceship command/missiles, golem pilot and whatnot (training faster than me, at well everything except leadership)
anyways, I am almost completely amarr specced, frig 4, cruiser 5, bs 5, t2 guns, almost maxed gunnery support skills. in caldari I have caldari frig 5, cruiser 4, bs 3, crap for missiles, and t2 small hybrids. in gallente frig 4, cruiser 4 (going to 5 right now), and bs 4. t2 med/large hybrids are planned for someday. in minmatar frig 4 and cruiser 1, no projectile skills. (going for a minmatar spec similar to my amarr spec next) probably finally finish off my shield skills, got around to getting t2 hardeners as I was thinking about flying a nightmare but said meh and stuck to my paladin.
my alt flies caldari and mining barges. is about 1.1mil sp behind me but has lots and lots of science/industry type stuff.
so yea, I like to be diverse.

I just recently finished my 3rd Racial Cruiser V.
Caldari and Minnie HACs and Recons, and Amarr Recons (no laser skills).
Multiple races is fun. |

I'm omni-trained to battleship.
In the T2 class I can fly all races Assault Frigate, Interceptor, Electronic Attack, Stealth Bomber and Covert Ops.
My most dual trained are Caldari and Gallente Hac's, Command Ships, Force Recon, Logistics & Combat Recon. |

I like the idea actually.
Look at the ally tournament. The Gallente Warfare Team flew Minmatar and Ammar in their first match.
From a PvP point of few this may be no problem at all, but just looks kinda weird on the other hand.
A small bonus for flying your own race's ships could give the game a new thrill, like a Caldari flying a Caldari ship get 3% more shield or something.

I'm specced in amarr/gallente for t2 crusiers (hac,recon,logi) but stick with gallente battleships. right now trying really hard to stop myself from training minmatar cruisers(I might let myself after I get HICs, we'll see, but damn that vaga is fun) |
