Anyone have some good predictions on the skill requirements here? |

Based on the new npc ai devblog some people speculate that you need the sleeper technology skillbook to build the tech 3 ships. If that turns out to be a valid speculation the future will show.
About the other skills necessary even more uncertainity is floating around. |

True, true. But those people will laugh a lot if indeed that skill is required and everyone rushes to get it when it is to late.
I think it is as with every speculation: you can win, you can lose. Time will tell.

well, i doubt the existing sleeper tech skill will be required unless the other 3 associated skills are also involved-- one for each respective race. but so far ONLY the sleepers have been mentioned. besides, those skills (and their prereqs) were designed for archeology and related stuffs, not for the new T3 stuffs.
and as usual, there is always different spheres of skills involved with any ship tech:
1. skills needed to acquire the raw materials 2. skills needed to manufacture the modules 3. skills needed to use the modules or fly the ship
i believe the OP is mainly referring to the "consumer level" skills. but since this a whole new mechanic, there will probably be additional spheres such as "skills needed to assemble the modules into ships".

Unless they kick us in heimy and make us get those certificates we all decided weren't worth it because of some bone headed 5 we couldn't be bothered with. |

However, there is a large precedent for CCP not liking when single skills get inflating to an unreasonable level.
If this skill is indeed used, it will either be put in w-space somewhere, or seeded somewhere else. |

True, true. But those people will laugh a lot if indeed that skill is required and everyone rushes to get it when it is to late.

It's a COSMOS thing. They learned their lesson with making the skill books and decryptors drop from static COSMOS containers. It would be stupid to gate it that way.
The difficulty of new AI and the logistics of WH systems is a much better way to do it. |

Of course some people will have a head start if (or assuming) Sleeper tech is the thing you need to build it. But it will take awhile for parts and all that stuff to fill the pipelines and everyone and their sister will be trying to do the same thing. There will be some money to be made off the people who just *must* have the new thing first and willing to pay a premium for it but most people will not cash in on that.
I would strongly suspect necessary skill books will drop in W-Space for whatever is needed. To make it so the books only come from one COSMOS site would be an appalling state and I seriously doubt CCP will let it be that way.
