is it me or are the high sec belts disapearing? its rare i find a belt with one largeish roid in it these days and a lot of the belts are completley mined out, i have been around domain & verge, lonetrek & black rise - caldari belts seemed unaffected but i think theyre hiding too :(

Check the Cosmos constellations.. in generally I've found these to have better belts and I have no real clue why.

You're probably in highly-populated areas. Where I am, there's almost no people and 6-8 belts per system, so there's plenty of good ore.

Oh u!
But really, I gave up belt mining. The entire high-sec Derelik region is pretty much mined out. What you need to do, is mine mission belts. Few good ones are rogue slave trader (2), gone beserk, pirate invasion, etc. The stuff in those is far superior to anything you can find anywhere in highsec any more.
And as an added bonus, you get mission isk, lp's, loot, bounties, and a chance to break the tedium of mining the same crescent belt. |

Sigh. Okay kids, let's review.
Normal kernite and, for those who love it, normal omber, are in demand due to Storyline "Trade" missions. Sure, the price is hideous, but compared to the time and effort needed to go mine "x" thousands of the required ore, most Storyline missioneers just pay the coin and the mission is done in like 15 seconds if you have the ore right in the same station.
The market value of these two minerals has *nothing* to do with the mineral value. You want minerals, then mine the better quality roids of these two ores.
As for mined out systems... look for some systems with no stations.
Yes, you will have to haul --- booo-hooo.
Or, mission mine as several wise and entirely correct Pilots have already stated.

Oh i've done that, have an orca to haul too, usually me an a freind try to scan belts down in high sec but recently been looking in various places for a good place to mine. tbh the thread really was started as a "is there something wrong with the regen of belts" question type thread.
I know there are good belts in 0.0 but unless your in a big alliance thats not really a peaceful way for an alt to make a living I'm sure there are some systems that have good belts but i imagine they are at the farthest regions of high sec space and i really dont want to go that far.
*sigh*
I havent checked amarr cosmos but caldari one is mainly veld etc and the gallente cosmos was looking a little bare a week ago. I have scouted a few systems in quite a few regions including kador, devoid & delve (i think), verge vendor, damn cant remember all the bloody names but i have been far and wide |

Actually, I agree with this to a degree but 0.0 isn't for everyone. I happily spent 6 hours stripping two belts of Bistot and Crokite last night to help pay for my cap ships, cap industrial, and amarr carrier skill books. I'll continue this process tonight and tomorrow.

Actually, I believe that Luthien may be right.
I have noticed that the High sec belts are not being respawned after DT. INdeed with the minutes of the CSM meeting recently, it was noted that a good portion of DT is taken with scripts run to reseed the belts..
Now DT has only been laster 30-40 minutes - not the full hour!
So are CCP not running the scripts on purpose to stop the belts form appearing in an attempt to get people to move into other areas?
Low sec perhaps? Or perhaps they see ppl in only several systems and just forcing them to search a little harder than the two systems that the miners usually look into???
On a note: I've seen belts with nothing but Dense Veldspar in it, so perhaps the devs are simply running one script only (dense veldspar)? Will they run one script every day in an attempt to push ppl out? Move them around a bit?

This actually makes a lot of sense. Purposefully not respawning roids in large pop systems to encourage migration. |
