The Machariel used to be good for roaming gang warfare.
Is it any good now? Is there another BS that is better?
Or are command ships the largest ships which are good for roaming gang warfare |

From the lack of answers, I presume there are no good BSs for roaming gang PvP.
Maybe there will be a good T3 BS that serves this purpose. |

Well, this was my idea for a roaming gang Macharial, but it's as agile as a brick.

The lack of replies is because you are too generic with your question. Roaming gang PvP can mean self sustaining or remote rep.
Also it really matters what you want to do with your BS. My typhoon will never top the charts but it doesn't mean that I am less effective with 4 utility high slots(I only run AC's). Questions like "What x ship is good for PvP?" are terrible questions.

Any battleship can work for a roaming gang.

congratulations! you just made yourself into a very expensive bait ship! you win a T2 "Bullseye!"* highslot module!
*stats of T2 Bullseye:
+500000% signature increase -500000% chances of surviving more than 1 hour in a roaming gang -50000% chances of surviving for 1 hour in a roaming gang -5000000000000000% chances on surviving the first 0.0 gate jump +500000000% chances on being called primary by every one and their brother/sister/mother/father/extended family/and then some. 0.00001% chance of survival in any kind of engagement. gets targeted and tackled by every falcon/arazu/tackler in the same grid as the ship is automatically. ---

If someone told me to bring a BS to a roam I'd bring a Scorp. Who cares if I'm slower than a brick and forever 2 systems behind because, you know, that's how I roll.

I have a mach and tbh since the speed nerf its basically a re-hulled tempest that cost 10x as much. Speaking of which I usually run a RR ac tempest in bs gangs. Faction are fun but unless your really rich and don't mind loosing your capship-priced toy I wouldn't put it in the average fleet. |

battleships in general are poor for roaming gangs, aside from RR battleship gangs.
you can look at it this way:
there are two types of roaming gangs. gangs that are centered around battleships (such as remote rep gangs), which still require smaller ships for support, or smaller ship gangs, where a battleship is not welcome. if you're talking about a battleship with a remote rep gang in mind, then ideally what you want is a battleship that can be effectively armor tanked with a utility high slot or two to spare. good examples of this are the tempest, dominix, armageddon, scorpion, typhoon, etc. for a ship thats not built and focused around remote rep gangs, however, its best not to bring a battleship at all. |

Scorpion actually has good agility. Better than geddon and dominix. And thats before you fit plates on phoon, geddon and domi. (Admittedly depending on how you "roll" plating the scorp may also be an option though but it will still retain its agility advantage that way.) --

A single plate on a Scorp is a fairly common fit. But if all the other BS are plated up, then the Scorp holds its own in agility. Although, in practice, all BS warp off a gate in 10 seconds anyway. If Soporo's Scorp is stuck two jumps behind, then he's doing something very, very wrong.
It's an old, old myth that Caldari ships lack agility - and on the heavier ships they're competitive on speed also, if the armour-tankers are plated and rigged up. |
