Edited by: Leina Kubyeshev on 04/02/2009 05:33:04 Before I say anything I want to make it perfectly clear that I understand that the abaddon has a laser bonus. I fit this ship to be very immune to cap warfare which I come across daily. Please dont flame me. I'm not looking for mean comments , just opinions.
Highs:
8x 800mm Repeating Artillery II, (Hail L)
Mids:
Warp Disruptor II Stasis Webifier II Eccm Radar II 100mn Microwarpdrive II
Lows:
2x 1600mm Rolled Tungsten Plates 1x Damage control II 2x Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II 2x Gyrostablizer II
Rigs:
3x Trimark I
Drones: Hammerhead II's
Stats: 165k EHP Resitances: 81% EM 76% Thermic 71% Kinetic 70% Explosive
752 Dps 2739 volley ( I realize this is lower than a properly fit pulse baddon but again I'm looking for cap independence)
678 m/s with MWD
Considering what I've acknowledged so far and that I'm determined to get a projectile baddon to work what do you all think? |

Why not passive shield tank it and have someone else tackle. |

Edited by: Leina Kubyeshev on 04/02/2009 05:41:19 why dont you suggest a passive shield fit. personally I think thats ridiculous considering its armor tank bonus. |

I like the traditional fit. Being a purist I very much dislike the autocannon fit. The pulse fit does everything better and with a cap booster your not going to have trouble. |

I was thinking of a navy apoc tank, nevermind. Still doable for bait I suppose. |

The only good reason to put projectile turrets on an Amarr ship is if you're fighting Angels. |

shield tanked abaddon? projectiles on it /me shivers....
On that abs fit i would drop the eccm and add either an ab or a mwd.

Use faction emp not hail. It looks pretty good tbh and definitely a surprise for those trying to cap you out. |

Why not just train minmatar bs and fly an ac pest? it tosses more damage since it is actually bonused for projectiles. Besides it looks cooler than a giant upside down bananna sitting on top of a row boat :P |

Gee thanks for drawing me that mental picture, now that I look at the Abaddon it's true... I'll never see em differently again :/

Funny how passive shield idea is dismissed because of armor tank bonus, when it's about just as silly as fitting projectiles.
People fit projectiles on lot of stuff but most I see them do is die.
750 dps would be almost decent if your 2 low slots weren't dedicated to gyrostabs. That's as much as a normal abaddon does with 7 slot tank, with the slight difference of 15km optimal, not to talk about barrage/scorch comparisons.
If you are so concerned about cap warfare might aswell use a plated phoon. Or fit 2nd cap booster on pulse abaddon, without rep it should fit. Also since abaddon is best used as the ship that attracts opposing dps from it's gang's geddons and megas, even if you do run dry there is nothing to be overly concerned about, since 1) you'll probably die somewhere in the middle of the fight 2) you're not the best damage dealer of your gang 3) your tank is rather cap-independant anyway. Neutralizers are not a great concern in gang vs gang situations, and it's not like you can solo much with 60% webs in a BS anyway even with ACs. Also judging from your pulse abaddon fit with 2 eccms and no web it seems to me it's a gang fit in any case.
Idea of fitting cap-free guns might seem justified, it probably even is in some particular cases, but generally I wouldn't touch that with a 20 foot pole.
Oh, about the RR, I wouldn't. It has 8 turret slots with a reason. Removing a gun while still wasting slots in lows for heatsinks is a losing race. Abaddon is great as aggro magnet, if you manage to force the other guys to shoot it first you'll come very close to winning the fight, even if they switch primary target they lost a lot of time in which they hopefully lost some of their own number. Or as FC's ship, and that's mostly because of simplicity of it's role in a fight. You don't need to concern yourself who to rep, just whom to shoot and basically just need to think out loud when calling primaries. Also if you're the FC you'll try not to be aggro magnet, something which abaddon is actually great at since no one likes primarying it for obvious reasons - meaning you'll stay alive somewhere until the very end.
