when you recieve the mail from an r&d agent that says: Our research has been fruitful, but I've encountered a snag and our research has been halted. Please contact me as soon as possible.
does this mean they wont be giving anymore rp till you go an see them?

No, you will keep getting RP.
It just means that your agent have a new mission for you, if you do the mission then you will receive RP=1day of additional points, if you dont do the mission then nothing bad happens, you can just ignore him.

ok havent done them before, just ppl saying things like you will lose standing if you dont do it aswell is there any truth behind this?

This message needs changing to
"I have another mission for you to do, if you are interested come see me"
It says that because of the old lottery system.

If you accept the mission and don't do it then the agent may not be a happy bunny. You don't have to do the optional missions but you will gain standing and extra RPs if you do. Most don't bother and the daily RPs will still mount up if you do or don't do missions.

ok thanks yeah i know id gain standings and more rp jusy things you hear sometimes concern me lol anyway what sort of rp should i be able to get from a lvl2 q18 agent per day if skills maxed? i currently have 108rp a day from one of them on minmatar starship engineering lvl3 is that good or anyone help with an info link or something maybe lol im useless

Starship engineering will always give you x3 RPs over the other fields since the datacores cost 3x more than the others. So whilst you think that starship research is better and gets you more RPs it doesn't get you any more datacores over researching other fields.
