This was on local in Jita:
*** ******* > someone taek my can or drpo one so i csan shoot
Why do these ppl pay so they can sit outside Jita 4/4 in the hope that someone might take their can.
I can understand the ppl that camp the station as part of a wardec, but every time I go to Jita there is a blob just sat outside.
If they want a fight why dont they go to low/null sec?

Edited by: Dirk Magnum on 05/02/2009 05:04:43 You get two kinds of fights with cans outside of trade hubs: you versus idiots, and you versus someone who believes themselves competent enough to take you. The latter is a lot easier to get with a trade hub can than it is to get with a random PvP encounter in low sec. It's a rewarding way to have an actual 1v1 against a skilled opponent, from time to time, and it's worth the effort if you're the really patient type.

Kinda hard to tell the difference between the two though, and sometimes it's both.
However, I've had a few good fights this way, more than a few ****ty ones though Meanwhile, on the other side of town . . . |

Edited by: Surfin''s PlunderBunny on 05/02/2009 05:19:04 The rule is don't touch the can if it a player corp with more than 1 member... take it and you flagged to whole corp
*Edit: Yes I fell for it once... but the idiots didn't wait for me to aggro so I just docked and laughed at them |

The first true 1v1 trade hub fight I see will be, well, the first...errr.
Anyway, it almost always involves neut remote rep Domis or whatnot.

I gotta go with this guy
I had a nice little 1v1 today to test how well i really perform with my ship, it ended in him winning, but i learned something about my fit and how to improve it ^.^
1v1's are easy to find, as he said, just gotta be patient, as for the idiots and gankers.. well.. if you're paying attention, you'll see them a mile off

There's a tool like that in Amarr, named Giribaldy or something. All he does is fly around in his rigged autocannon Merlin asking ppl for 1v1's, only to undock an arbitrator alt with HH2's to 'help' him.
Funny to see, logical to expect what he does and amazing that people still fall for it.

Gaven Blands hit the nail on the head a year ago
Took a Megas can who wanted a "1vs1", A geddon undocks and starts remote repairing him, but hes still going down and my dual rep domi is tanking him fine, he deaggro's and docks. I engage the Geddon for laughs, take him into half armor, he docks. Both undock, I consume my standard booster and I'm still tanking them reletivly nicely with heat, geddon is 40% armor and deaggro's, docks up in hull. Mega immediatly deaggro's after that.
Theres a Curse with a can out, so I take that, start fighting him and Scimitar undocks as soon as he is low shields, I start on the scimitar, instantly redocks, go back to the Curse and hes going down slowly. Scimitar undocks, got him webbed and scrammed out of docking range this time, hes going down, second scimitar undocks, so I deaggro and dock.
Theres also several corps who just declare war on alliances in Dodixie, camp the station in Trimarked battleships and NPC alts in Guardians/Onieros etc. And hug the dock perimeter of the station, deaggroing whenever they are in trouble, with several rep alts to save them.
Theres not much you can do about it really. I made a 5.6km/s Brutix for this purpose, 100mn microwarpdrive overheated, 3 overdrives, 2 nano fibers and 3 agility rigs. with 3 small cap boosters. I bumped one of their dock hugging geddons 29km off the station and he flipped out in local . Unfortunatly half the stations in eve have ridicilious dock perimeters, like the Jita/Ours station models and since QR it's hard to get a ship fast enough to bump them off. |

this is so true... my best 1v1 was from can baiting outside amarr... punisher from an '04 player vs me in my hookbill... the fight lasted a bit over 2 mins, i won with about 25% strcuture... and only because he forgot to overheat, i didn't... we had a good 45 mins convo after that. it was truely rewarding for the 4 hour wait.
