I wouldn't want them to help bob. But other than goons, does any one else want goonswarm to be a major 0.0 player without anyone to counter them?
I call 'Bull****' CCP. Isn't it great that the alchemy process was introduced & can 'take up the slack?' |

Uhm have you checked the sov map lately, they already have a hard time holding their own space atm, every entity in eve can be countered, some just need to have some stuff used against them that they did to all their enemies :P |

Agreed. Human nature is to fight. Then when thats solved find something else to fight. Someone else will fill bobs shoes although it may take years. Heck it may be ex bob members themslelves. A quick solution would be to join -A- but im not sure so many egos can fit into one alliance |

I don't see CCP lifting a finger to help BOB, all of this stuff is all over game forums news sites etc on the internet right now, if news gets out that CCP intervenes it will bring a heap of bad publicity to a company that many members of the wider mmo community already perceive as having biased devs (from t20 incident). If you read comments on sites like slashdot etc whenever a story about eve is published there is always a dozen people saying "I've heard about Eve but I stayed away because I heard the devs were corrupt".
Only reason I can see CCP intervening is if there is proof that illegal methods were used, from everything I've heard this was not the case entire thing was done using approved game mechanics, ergo if CCP do intervene without damn convincing proof something illict was done, I can see mass rabble on the forums theadnaught mk II etc, such actions will bring nothing but more bad publicity to CCP and confirm rumors about biased devs etc.
When CCP gave their tacit approval for metagaming, they effectively opened the Pandora's box that led to this happening.
BOB were one of the heaviest metagaming alliances in the game, using spies to offline towers, hacking enemies TS, denial of service attacks on websites, spamming fc's cell phones etc. So for BOB themselves to be destroyed by metagaming seems like a nice case of justice being served.

This is supposed to be the sandbox, the game of player decided destinies. Any intervention from CCP would fly in the face of their core game philosophy.
If the account was hacked (brute force, et. al), well, then I suppose its more complicated.
At the end of the day, the best action for CCP to take is perhaps to allow more controls in the alliance setups and interfaces that could allow players to turn on mechanisms that prevent a single player from disbanding an entire alliance, should that alliance have those mechanisms turned on.

yup it's all just a part of game mechanics from the sounds of it, it is not really an illegal act, all be it a cowardly one. This kind of thing happens quite often to other alliances so if CCP somehow get in vovled and 'undo' the allaince deletion then its going to **** off ALOT of people, and I'd like to think CCP wouldnt give special treatment, but we'll just see... |

Most things belong to the corps, so other than Sov and all that gets lossed with SOV what else did they lose?
Yes they can be attacked, but again as of right now other than the alliance name they have not lost anything have they? |

I havent seen a single intelligent comment on how everybody plans to take down BoB's huge cap fleets. They have lost cyno jammers but to my understanding this means that now BoB can be attacked more openly by people who have consistently failed to beat them in fleet warfare.
Alliances are made up of people and BoB is made up of a huge amount of high SP, high wealth, highly experienced PVP'ers so it will be interesting to see where this goes.
As an outsider who is enjoying this whole shebang i will throw up a scenario that i think is most likely, BoB get attacked on all fronts and subsequently deal out some of the greatest slaughter EVE has ever seen
I got my popcorn and a nice cool drink so lets see some action people. |

TBH I really hope this means the "Great War" is over and we'll get out of this insane super-alliance mentality and get back to where alliances fight each other instead of living in giant napfests from hell.
Unfortunately I think BoB will reform under another ticker (rumor has it they are already starting to) and regain their sov (though they'll have a hell of a fight to do it) then we'll be back to business as usual :(

ye my hope also is that a bit more pandemonium will spring up, make things more fluid again, but probably not going to happen.
My predictions: Goons/NC/Whoever take Delve/PB/Querious and then it'll "just" be another part of the meganap.
Don't get me wrong, i'm blue to goons and such, but the fact that if I kick your shins you'll bring friends 5 regions away is not what I'd call fun. (effective though)
