In the last two days PVP in 0.0 has exploded. Combat has broken out in EVERY sector of the south. Fleets are mobile, and things are happening. Yesterday I got in an actually fair fleet fight .
We all know what happened two days ago. I suggest disbanding every alliance that exists, and shutting down the mechanic. We may actually get fun, fast moving PVP then. IT seems that every time an alliance falls apart, actual PVP starts, so why not make EVERY alliance fall apart, and watch the synergy flow? Honestly, the whole alliance mechanic over-engineers the game. Once alliances start forming, PVP dies, and political ****ery takes over. End all of it.
The time is now. The game has NEVER been more balanced. |

If there were no alliances I wouldn't expect PvP to rise much. The only reason it's on the up now is everyone is scrambling to gather up the bits of BoB and secure their territories. So all the fighting is a result of there suddenly being a lot of empty space. |

the fact is, BOB is still there, and nothing changed in 48 hours, they just lost sov and have no cynojammers, but the deathstars are still there, gunners are ready, stuff is being made up.
i'd suggest the shutdown of cynojammers and put a limit on active jammers/constellation. that's way better, and doesn't mess up with alliance mechanics |

Corporations are much much more volatile than an alliance. more space will come open more often, and a corp will often have to uproot its self for internal reasons.
That kind of volatile nature promotes PVP. |

You take a special event and argue that it will work the same under non-special circumstances.
People will aggregate in allainces - whether the alliance "name" mechanic is there or not. We did have alliances before the official mechanics appeared.
Fighting exploded this time due to unusual circumstances. The most famour pvp alliance lost soc and got disrupted. That of course is motivation for all those who love to hate bob - or simply see an opportunity to rush and grab territory or try to finish off BoB.
You don't get the same motivations by simply removing alliance mechanics.
Alliances are a good thing - some details need tuning/improving that's all. You don't get great fights every day regardless. --- Save the forum: Think before you post. ISK BUYER = LOSER EVE TV- Bring it back! Laptop, NVidia7900GS, Ubuntu 8.04, WINE |

Another way to promote PvP is just go poke your neighbors until they get ticked off and invade you ;)
