Problem solved in ecm-2.0.2 :)

Tried the 2.0.2 upgrade, and it did work.

Seems that the re-direct / static pages are not working correctly though.

Just getting text links, no images.

I did verify the img is in the correct path on the server. I also configured the reverse proxy to see if that would resolve it, but it did not.

First of all, I am using shared web hosting (dreamhost), and have a lot of freedom, so I can install whatever to my home directory, such as the custom install of python I'm using.

you are getting this error because when you compiled python you didnt have libbz2-dev on the system. get this installed and then recompile python and this will solve your issue :)

as for your fastcgi issue it seems that django supports this. havent done it myself but the docs are here. https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/1.4/howto/deployment/fastcgi/

seems that it doesnt have the project in the path. print out hte python path in the script and see if you can find out if what you need is missing. or if something is wrong.
eg. i see in your path its '/home/compuwiz/ecm.redshift-gaming.net/oisecm', but if hte import is saying oisecm.settings then it wont find it becasue it will be looking for '/home/compuwiz/ecm.redshift-gaming.net/oisecm/oisecm/settings'

I believe a better understanding of python would help, I'll have to add that to my todo list.
Actually the path also includes '/home/compuwiz/ecm.redshift-gaming.net' (last line, missed that myself until you mentioned it actually). The '/home/compuwiz/ecm.redshift-gaming.net/oisecm' path is so it can import 'paste' so we can see this debug info.

I just have changed the settings.py and adjusted the static patch manually to my local server.
Since im using this on a VM isnt an issue for me at all.


Also, I saw that you guys have done an association between one account and the corp characters.

Since im hosting it locally for a personal management, Is it possible to implement something where the ceo can group characters for a better overview about what character is alt and if its an alt who is the main? If it can be viewed as an hierarchy and has even a control that shows if the main is still in corporation should be nice too.

My corp isnt that small and some people used to have many cynoalts. Its damn hard to keep track of all alts. also, if the player leaves the corp but doesnt remove the alt its not that easy to figure it out.

If this is out of scope, a simple new details field can do the trick (this just need to appear at the char list too)

When I browse to the page I get an "Internal Server Error" on "http://www.mypage.com/account/login/?next=/".
Any idea?

Look at your webserver error log file. I had that "Internal Server Error" and my error file told me to install python-beautifulsoup

If anyone wants me to host one of these for you, drop me a mail. I'd be interested to see how many instances of ECM I can get away with. Currently using 1/20th of the resources I need myself for two instances.

Failing that, I'll walk you through installing it, pretty straight forward after the first 20 trys

What sort of hardware would that require??? Assuming a relatively low number of concurrent users(5 max).

bumse you need to check that the user that runs the cron process has access to the log directory in the instance folder.

I've started getting some errors recently. I'm no sure why it has been popping up all of a sudden, but I suspect an updated system package is the cause.



Some mails contunues on for what seems to be pretty much each module triggered by the cron job, some mail just contains a single module, but I do think I see why.

I assume this has to do with the logs (writing to existing or doing a new date-marked-set). The log directory and all the files within are set to 777 and I've tried changing ownership between www-data, the user that is running the cron-job and also setting it to pretty much _everyone_ can do anything ... but the error still seems to be popping up.

Any tips&tricks for me here? :)

I'm having one hell of a time getting the items in the static folder to show. I've tried changing owners and permissions on it and nothing seems to be working. The server acts as if the directory isn't alias'd but i've got this in the vhost config:

just because a site goes offline doesnt mean the project is dead at all. how can you decide if something is dead or not while you are not the owner of said project?
