We weren't all slaves, even before Vak'Atioth. Some fled Matar and roamed in the deep places between the stars. Our home had been taken from us, but at least we weren't beasts of factory and field.
To say we felt safe would not be entirely true, but we felt a sort of relief that it wasn't us. Over time this sense of relief changed, it became an unspoken superiority. We had been smart enough to escape. We had been clever enough to hide.
Whether through beneficence or circumstance the Jove opened a way home to our unluckier brethren. In time, we too returned.
Those of us that had initially escaped bondage mouthed words of unity, but I can assure you not all of us felt it in our hearts. We were the clever ones.
Some, such as myself I have no pride in saying, began to work willingly for our brothers masters. I would quiet any guilt by freelancing for the Fleet; but the bonds of ISK, greed, and indifference clouded my eyes.
This clever one had finally been ensnared by a trap designed to ensnare the clever.
Flash frozen Matari blood on the hands of the dog leashed by digital cash was the high price it took to move that cloud from my eyes.
I can no longer pretend. I can no longer be one of the clever ones. War is upon us and the collar threatens us all. Now is the time to raise my bloodied fist.
So do I take up the cause of my brothers, so do I fight, so do I take up the mantle of Kinda'Shujaa and Ushra'Khan.

everyone who takes up the fight against imperial oppression should be recognised and celebrated.
its easy to join the larger side in a conflict, but it takes true strength of character to knowingly fight while outnumbered.
well done and welcome brother. |

I wish more of the clever ones would reevaluate their position as you have from time to time. There are other, different, clever ones, and other traps as well. May the Ammatar someday recognize themselves in your words.

Turn yourself in now to any slave colony. You will only cause more harm to you fellow livestock by instilling false hope in a lost cause.

I have flown with you for nearly two years, Akiyama, and I understand your desire to aid your Kin. I am a patroit as well, and I believe in fighting for what is correct and just. Know this, should you ever have the need to call, I shall be there to lend aid.
As for the Amarr, it is truely sad to see the blind arrogence that some of them display. They are not superior and I am glad that the ones I fly with can see right from wrong.
Fly safe, fly strong, Akiyama. You know where to find me if I'm needed. |

As a general rule, whenever I see a subject heading like this one, I know I'm going to see either a dedication-of-self to the god of the Amarr or the cause of the Minmatar. And since the Amarr seem to have some small difficulty acquiring actual converts who weren't Amarr to begin with, it seems to be Matari at about a two-to-one rate.
There are others that go on about enlightenment, of course, but usually the "harder" groups-- Blood Raiders, for instance-- go on more about Truth than about anything as ephemeral as clouds.
... I wonder if anyone's done a study.

The collar only causes pain to the dog that struggles against it. Obedient dogs get free reign, trusted dogs are let off the collar.
Don't bring pain to yourself by this unnecessary struggle.

Originally by: John Akiyama We weren't all slaves,
ALL are slaves, some to lust or money, some to power or drugs. All are enslaved until they are freed of their bondage by service to God.
Quote: Those of us that had initially escaped bondage mouthed words of unity, but I can assure you not all of us felt it in our hearts. We were the clever ones.
You where not the clever ones, you where the lost ones. Wondering the darkness not seeing the light which God had shown you to lead you to His path. You did not escape bondage, you embraced bondage and let the lies hold you captive.
Quote: I would quiet any guilt by freelancing for the Fleet; but the bonds of ISK, greed, and indifference clouded my eyes.
While you have continued down the wrong path this passages shows there is hope for you. You have begun to see the bondage that holds you from God.
Quote: War is upon us and the collar threatens us all. Now is the time to raise my bloodied fist.
So do I take up the cause of my brothers, so do I fight, so do I take up the mantle of Kinda'Shujaa and Ushra'Khan.
Now you have one more bondage to overcome, the one that was created by the lies you find in the darkness. Once you have defeated the lies, once you have seen the light of God THEN and only then will you be free.
Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, God will be a light unto me. |
