What a waste of time it was to train for this thing. CCP, wtf were you thinking? It is absolutly worthless. Not to mention the 130 mil I dropped for the mod and ship. The inability to cloak while warping and inabilty to jump or even get next to the gate cloaked is crap. Why did you even make these ships? How is a covert ops frig any better than an interceptor with an Improvede Cloaking II? Other than the extreme cost difference and being able to align for warping cloaked, I cant see it. I wonder how worthless you can make the new ships we'll see at christmas (if lucky).

It's a bug; they're working on it. In the meanwhile, deal please.

Dude take your meds, please.
They'll get luvin very soon, including that bug with the warping.
Also, why would you complain about spending all that isk for a ship you knew good and well what it's capabilities are? Sounds like your own fault.
I have my Helios parked atm, waiting on the cloak thing to get fixed.

Don't hold your breath. These are the guys that brought you Soon(tm), after all. If they fix it this year, I will be impressed...

Axyom: the fix is in testing, per comment by lickspittle. Next patch is what I'd suspect -- and I'd not bet on a -specific- date, but I'd not be surprised if the patch comes next tuesday or the tuesday after that. So -- a week or two? -Maybe- three..

I completely understand your anger...im currently training cloaking to lv4 so i can use the ops cloak but im not holding my breath for it to be very useful....the problem with ccp is they have all these bugs in the game that need fixing before the next set of bugs are introduced with shiva..but instead of bug fixing they are sitting around comming up with crazy ideas like getting rid of local chat..BAH i say...fix the mods and ships and least of all change it so it doesnt take 20 mins to change ships in station...if i have to see 'your halfway on board' message again im gonna SCREAM!!!!
i had that cloaking II mod before the mega nerf and it was fun..now its just 110mill sitting in my hanger moking me whispering in my ear 'tomb loves u'....well fix it!!! ...and for the GM's that answered my petitions the other day in like 10 mins...thanks guys u rock!!

This sort of ignorant comment is the sort of thing that can enrage people for no good reason.
No-one is planning to get rid of local chat. Everybody would still be able to chat in local anywhere. Just that in some systems you won't know who is there until they speak. You will still know how many other people are in local too.
How is that anything like 'getting rid of local chat'?
Seriously, think before you rant - all you are doing is scaring people with lies instead of empowering them with truth. ______________________________________________
Never argue with idiots. They will just drag it down to their level, and then beat you through experience. |

This makes me angry a bit. You see if cloaking was too good it would get nerfed and the whole community would say 'CCP NERF EVERYTHING!'. Cloaking has started off a bit poor and will be improved and CCP still get a bunch of grief. I know a lot of you have played games where players can cloak and I'm sure you can remember how overpowered that can be.

Yes cloaking can be easily overpowered in a game, but that is not the problem/point here. Its not like people complain because CCP nerfed the module - it is simply bugged.
Sorry - but the covert ops cloaking device story just shows how bad things go in eve often/sometimes. Took a long time from the testing to the actual appearing in the game, they got nerfed/changed/modified several times in between and when they finally appear in very very very small numbers (which actually is good IMHO) and are highly priced - it turns out that they dont work.
Too often this seems to me like a betatest and even in those i would assume that people actually _TRY_ the stuff before releasing it. Otherwise you just waste time and effort and get a bad public image.
And now i wait for the usual "its not CCPs fault! the players are at fault because they didnt test it on chaos and delivered bug reports" reply
I also like the CPU nerf on them - is it intentional that you cant really use the module even if you have all the required skills or is that a sideeffect of not calculating them?
Oh and how many more years till somebody realises what "%" actually means? 1% of 100 means 1 and not 100 or 0.01 like it often turns out.
Seriously ... |

So unless you are in a different chat channel or on TS you wouldn't know to talk to anyone that was there right? 'Hello, hello. is there anybody out there' pink floyd.
Quote: You will still know how many other people are in local too.
Not if they don't fix the current local bugs. A) The number on the tab has ALWAYS been misreported. B) People go missing from the local as recently as last night I saw this OLD bug.

It should be reworded to, local chat will now be used only when you actually see another player in your grid.
Chat and text windows are programming 101, it does seem a little odd that after a year of release they are still buggier than a month old corpse.
