I'm thinking of delving into the TS world to spruce up my experience while playing EVE. I've never used anything like TS b4, never owned a headset...
I fear that hearing voices of those I play with (especially those I see as big bad pirates, hate to have nerdy geeky voices behind those avatars...), and not being able to pronounce some of thier names could ruin the game for me a bit, but I hope the enhancements from the experience will outweigh the drawbacks.
What I would like to know is, where should I look for a good wireless headset for gaming?
If the TS'ers out there could give me a hand, it would be much appreciated...
Thank You

Don't get a wireless one, they ruin all the fun.
A few weeks ago I was about to take part in a battle, but unfortunately I had a pressing matter to attend to.
Knowing I was short on time I would have to answer natures call as fast as possible.
I pushed by chair back, turned and began to run out of the room...
...only to discover the headset cable was wrapped around my leg and the base of my chair. I end up on the floor with a bleeding lip and a sore head.
Man I was annoyed so I took it out on the enemy .. it was a great battle. ______________________________________________
Never argue with idiots. They will just drag it down to their level, and then beat you through experience. |

Try the SONY TVHiFi infrared headset. Really quite good, although remember with wireless you do sacrifice some sound qaulity no matter what u go with.
THe model number is MDR-IF140K.

Sennheiser PC 150's are what I use. Great headset for gaming / teamspeak / etc.
I wish there was a decent set of two-way wireless headsets, but the only wireless ones I've found are either just headphones (no mic) or single ear "telephone" type headsets.

i used to play Counterstrke before eve and I used a lot of TS/Vent for matches. Most of my fellow gamers said that for headsets, plantronics and Sennheiser are about the best, especially Sennheiser if you can afford them
I use a plantronics myself and never had any problems with it and I get very good sound.

Plantronics Audio .90 Very Reliable.
Got one 3-4 years ago and I just had to replace it now, due to all of the drops, step ons, sit ons, kicked, thrown, twisted, battles it had to go through, and the only thing wrong was sound in one headphone went out (coulda fixed just too lazy).
and it is remarkably cheap, picked mine up for 25-30 U.S.

Has anyone yet seen a bluetooth STEREO headset? All i can see are crappy mono ones (designed for phones). I have a bluetooth dongle out the back of my PC for phone sync and i really wana get bluetooth headset to cut out another 1 foot of cable (for the infra-red/radio doofer).
The prime advantage of this is that I can still hear the TS chat in the kitchen whilst getting another beer
Cheers!

I just got a Jenson WB100 for $50 at buy.com. Good headset, but I find that it causes Eve to stutter/lag while using it. It is almost like when I am moving my pointer around menus, the game and sound will stutter, for some reason. I am still trying to figure it out, but it works great for teamspeak.

I fail to see how having sweaty ears improves the eve experience. I use speakers and a mic that clips onto my shirt.
Headsets should be reserved for formula 1 pit mechanics, people who fly planes, and sports shop attendants who wish to ask Tracey in the back for a price on the latest Hi-Tecs.

Wow, stay away from Jenson. They make garbage electronics, and I'm sorry that you paid $50 for a Jenson product.

Umm, microphone + speakers = feedback and echoes in other people's computers, which is in my opinion - bad

I used a logitech bluetooth headset with a Belkin bluetooth dongle for a while, quite good tbh.

I bought these a while ago, and even though they're optimized for FPS's and the like, they're still great for TS/music/whatever you want to use them for really.
I am Brisi, I am as One. Resistance is fertile.
