No.
The after-sales service is awful. I would never buy another one. |

Mercedes' are the best imo. Back in 2001, we owned a BMW 5 series in Nigeria, shipped it in brand new. Within 6 months the damn thing had fallen apart. The roads in Nigeria are treacherous, Mercedes, Volvo's, and Peugeots are the only brands that can take a pounding and keep on going, any car that can survive out there gets the thumbs up from me. It's not just about looks and speed, sometimes your life may depend on it. We now own three Mercs, two in London one out in Lagos.
"...master! there's a guy in the south village called IZON, he is a Ninja!" |

please stop sending those dodgy spam emails about russian oil billionaires whose planes have crashed in Lagos, or about corrupt government officials / bank managers.
you know what i'm talking about
ps: presumably if you're a nigerian gangster you can threaten some decent after-care out of your mercedes dealer... unfortunately you're the only one who can |

hmm I thought it was pretty damn strange that someone loved Mercurys, Mercedes seems to make a lot more sense.

Well statistically speaking the best car is probably a Toyota/Nissan/Honda in terms of value for money, after sales support and reliability but there's a lot to be said for good old solid German engineering ;)
IÆm currently driving a BMW at work and despite the previous owner abusing the car (you donÆt even want to know what they did to the lovely standard alloys) itÆs still a joy to drive.

Nope.
Reason : It's a matter of personal opinion. A car that's best for you can be really bad for another, and vice versa. Some ppl want cars that have a lot of room for cargo, others only care about how they look. Some really want good support, and others care a lot about security. Some want a small car, some want a big car, some want a helicopter but that's probably a bit more expensive.
On a sidenote, I'd be very surprised if it turned out that your friend considered it to be "not best", as that wouldn't make as much sense as if he did (merely because you generally don't referr to anything as being not best).

Used to be. Reliability on the new ones is awful though.
Give me a nice '80's SL and I'd be well happy though :)

No - Its gotta be the new Bently 2004 Continenntal GT. The Brits still know how to make the best luxury cars even if they are all owned by foreign companies.

hehe there was some idiot on the Whirlpool forums i visit called coded who would say that Toyota make the absolute best cars in the world, and that Toyotas luxury Lexus line of cars are the best on offer... that he was the manager of a Toyota dealership in Brisbane, and the sites he used for reference were blatant auto-industry propaganda sites apparently werent enough to convince him he was biased beyond belief... thankfully he was also an angry man, been in the sin bin for about 5 months now and not likely to be let out again.
My opinion, is that i wish i could afford a merc or one of its equally priced competitors
