Edited by: Damaclease on 04/08/2004 11:43:20 Even though its nice to be made famous i have a few things out of character that I do have a problem with. 1. The lack of the affore mentioned battle several FA members would have to have liked witnessed this or even participated.(possibly changing the out come) 2. The lack of communication between myself and the event team (it was all 1 way), i did not talk to the ORE representative as the story mentioned, nor did I demand to speak to Mordus or threaten ORE/Mordus legion with the "wrath of FA".
Quote: Your actions have cause much concern amoung our alliance members as we are unable to tell whether you are friend of foe or what how Serpantis corp will react. I would Very much like to meet with you in person to discuss this matter and a few others if possible.
3. Events are ment to be player run however the distinct lack of player interaction and ability to change the out come is alittle laughable.
Please take this as constructive critasisum

Well actually I think we all should be glad, that some of our fellow EVE players are willing to spend time, adding to other players gaming experience!!
a big thanks to the event team for doing this !!

Changing the outcome might have been why they didn't talk to anyone about it It might have NEEDED to be a specific outcome for the rest of the story to work...

well it could be the start of a story arc, bit like the new stargates. Player interaction may come later. -----------

I, for one, get bored (and frustrated) by that which I cannot affect.
Going through the treadmill exercise to participate, I expect some impact from my participation, in the story line. Sometimes I succeed in changing events, and sometimes I don't, but I at least need the possibility to keep my interest.
Speaking as a former table-top roleplayer and GM, I can tell you that if you were to run a table-top RPG the way CCP runs their events, you would quickly lose your players.
Of course, there is so much more to do in Eve than the bother with pendantic attachment to the Eve universe storyline and I am, today, much more attracted to the player run events than the CCP run events.
Hearing that ISD now also puts words in to the mouths of players makes me even less interested in participating in future CCP run stories. --- "All of us who are concerned for peace and triumph of reason and justice must be keenly aware how small an influence reason and honest good will exert upon events in the political field" - A.E. |
