Cruise missiles do about twice the damage of heavy missiles, at about twice the range (at least 120km, that's the furthest I've been able to target but the missiles just keep flying). |

You can get cruise missiles to go out to 250 KM. Not really good for anything other than shooting big ships/PoS or doing missions though. |

For PvE, you'll get a lot of use out of them. Decent against Cruiser sized targets and up and a really long range opens up a lot of doors.
In PvP, you can shoot falcons with it. For general sniping fleets, you'll want a gun based ship, as you don't have to wait 20-30 odd seconds for your missiles to hit. |

They are used by Stealth bombers too, which are useful for pvp. They`re tricky ship type to fly but a good boost to dps of a small mobile fleet.
Not true that cruises are of no use in pvp. If you have something scrambled then they`re good. They have their failings tho. One of them is that, as someone said, it can take a while for them to get to the target.
They`re useful for ratting too.
PS. I believe with good skills and especially used on a raven the range can easily exceed 300km. |

Not entirely sure, but I think there is a 250km targeting cap which would make 300km redundant. |

So the Cruise missiles got about 300km "effective" range before they...er..."dissappear" ?

it means if you use FoF missiles they could hit like 300km out. |

Make that 80km for FoFs.
@ topic: they were quite ok before the missile nerf because they were able to hit small targets for pretty nice damage, e.g. 100% damage on a ship with a sig of 225 going 750m/s. Now they are quite useless except for missionrunning, which can be done almost better in a heavy missle ship such as the nighthawk. I'd not waste skilltime on them anymore. |

We don't have to forget that the range of 250km is only for one stationairy target attacking another stationairy target...
if the target is moving, they could be moving "outside" 250km range from the point where the misiles were fired, but if range is 300 then they will still hit (asuming the target dosn't move 50km in the time it takes the missiles to hit) |
