I'm thinking about joining Gallente in FW.
I have a clone deep in Caldari space and I thought it might be exciting to try and get back to Gallente space. I'll be using an interceptor (Taranis).
Should be do-able right?

Yeah, I recently moved a jump clone through Amarr space in a frigate. If you encounter a pilot from a hostile militia in an interceptor as well he might try to scramble you, but probability is low.
Stay away from hig lag systems like Jita though.

With the silly QR agilities, Jita shopping is relatively easy and safe for a Gal FW pilot, actually... When we lived in Tama I purchased all my toys from Jita. Just a bit of travelfitting and you're usually fine.
Hell, I even shopped some BS from Caldari hisec to Tama! (Not from Jita though) |

You should be fine navigating through Hi-Sec as long as you're using a small(er) ship. An Interceptor, AF, Destroyer or other Frigate sized ship should allow you to pass without getting your clone killed.
If you have yet to join the FW you can move your clone in the 24 hour grace period before you become a war target once you sign on the (electronic) dotted line.

I made a mistake with the route the other day and ended up moving a typhoon battleship through both Caldari and Amarr high sec - up to 1.0 systems - while I'm in the Minmatar FW. The faction navies spawn depending on system sec (near instant in 1.0) but you have plenty of time to align and warp to the next gate while they amble over to you. May get the odd shot at you but they don't warp scram straight away - only web which helps align anyway. I find the faction navies a lot easier to deal with than the police (if you are below -5).
I didn't meet any of the opposing faction players and things could have been very different if I'd come through a gate with an interceptor on the other side
Basically you'll probably be fine moving through the enemy high sec as long as you keep moving. No one is expecting you so unless you are very unlucky you shouldn't have player problems. Fitting a warp stab or two may be a good idea. |

If you don't ap, you will be in warp to the gates long before the navy shows up in smaller ships.

If I am traveling thru enemy space and I'm being chased by the Factions Navy and I see an enemy that I want to engage I won't be able to because the faction navy guys will catch up to me when I stop to fight the other guy and blow me up.
The enemy has the same problem when they are traveling thru Gallente space so they can't engage.
So if each race can't fight in the enemies territory without getting caught and blown up by the respective faction navy where can/do the fights and engagements take place? |

Works expecially well in < 0.5 sec:
1) Enter 2) An NPC voice tells you are not exactly beloved there 3) As you entered (1), just warp to a PLANET (not moon or base!) 4) Probe & Gank at will
If you go to >= 0.5 sec, the NPC patrol will spawn near you regardless of where you go, so you have to have a massive tank ship (ideally, 2-5) if you want to kill someone before you get really hurt.
