so what do people think?
Eve Online Package Contains:
* 60 Day Game Time û Useable by both new and current players. * Instant War Access û Retail box buyers will receive an in-game certificate that will give them instant access to Factional Warfare, while other users have to spend considerable time earning the right to fight for the factions. * Career Guide û For the first in the history of EVE, CCP will offer players goals in the form of what career they want to pursue and the inside advice on how to get there. This might become the biggest thing in this box if this works well. * VIP Pass û Players are told how they can invite their friends and give them VIP Access to EVE Online in the form an extended trial and if the friend becomes a subscriber the player will get a 30 day free game time added to their account. * Special Edition Ship û Players will get an exclusive ship in-game. It is special type of a shuttle that is ideal to move things around due to much increased cargo space. This is the first time CCP has created an exclusive ship, so we believe our current player base will be very interested in this.

"Considerable Time"? the hell? they can just join a corp involved in FW, or spend one or two storyline missions, hell, newbies who start have neutral standings to everyone don't they? 0.5 is barely anything.

That was what was said up until now anyway that it was not correct, but of course it may turn out that it is at a later point - after all there's an Interbus shuttle in the new patch, so that shuttle thing may very well be accurate (just a shame it got the gallente hull atm). |

yeah the whole faction warfare things sounds like a push into pvp and lowsec again as ppl said about the new npc being pvp specd as opposed to normal pve, dont know what others think whether this is a drive to push everyone into 0.0 |

And yet you felt the need to create another thread about this, and claim in the title it's "confirmed". |

If the FW instant access is true, then where are the noobs going to pay their ships from, as FW doesn't pay anything. |

It would be quite a shock for a day old player to join FW methinks |

This must be why they nerfed the rig slots and calibration for the ibis of dooom.. rookie ships would dominate fw! |

Edited by: Kain Duku on 09/02/2009 18:49:21 Edited by: Kain Duku on 09/02/2009 18:48:29 my primary source is atari so i would say that its pretty "confirmed" actually sorry eurogamer who said i quote
"Atari has confirmed to Eurogamer that the box copy of EVE Online that it's releasing next month will come with a few exclusive perks.
The bonuses - usable by both new players and existing subscribers - include 60 days of game time, a special edition ship, a head-start in faction standings and an insider's guide to careers in the space MMO's persistent online universe.
The details first appeared on UK retailer Game's website earlier this week. Atari has told Eurogamer that they are genuine." |

This will bring ISK buying to the prominent forefront of the game. Get ready for bigtime banzorz incoming. |

Edited by: Kain Duku on 09/02/2009 19:11:47 yeah but if your bringing lots of rookies into fw then wouldnt it just mean your going to get a lot of rookies killing rookies so rookie ships galore which means they wont need isk really lol |

Interesting. Speculations:
1) they created a new ship to be used by Interbus NPCs for the NPC delivery service that has been suggested as a way to reduce load on Jita.
2a) Then they decided not to do a delivery service, so they decided to use the asset for a new player gimme; OR
2b) They decided to use the asset for a new player gimme with the plan to re-use it later when the delivery service eventually ships, if it does.
Either way, it all sounds fun. Is a new ship ever a bad thing? ------------------ Ironfleet.com |

Best thing that could happen really, they will only be flying frigates and they can fund that purely by ninja looting a few of the wrecks after the blobs have done their thing. |
