Two things have been screaming out at me since I started playing eve over a year ago, firstly was the that a skill queue would be very ery good. I am thrilled to hear of that this is currently being sorted (finally). The second and probably more important to me was Dual Screen Support. The user interface of eve online is great but it really is crying out for dual screen support. Chat windows, market, contracts, wallet, everything would fit nicely in the second screen leaving the first clutter free for Gaming. Obviously it would be fully customizable, i.e, the second screen (could) be used as starmap, then when you drag or open windows over it it still stays in the background like an in game desktop, but at the same time remaining fully active. Anyway Please get on dual screen support!
Thanks Provost

The ability to shrink the viewport would be really nice indeed. |

Only game I've ever played with duel-screen support was Supreme Commander. It was cool.
If they every did support this I'd have to get a third monitor! I play side by side with forums, spreadsheets and apps and I don't think I can ever go back to flipping back and forth between game and those! |

Wow, a like-thinker! Great idea, I have been pondering why this hasn't been done by CCP as well. I am always trying to push as many windows as I can into a little screen. :-\ Wonderful for miners and manufacturers.

Three monitors works wonderfully for EVE, but two monitors isn't so good with your ship right in the middle. I would personally love an improved starmap that could be thrown on a single monitor that tracks where I am. _______________ <Q> QUANT Hegemony A man creates; A parasite asks 'Where is my share?' Agreed. I would recommend using auxiliary monitors rather than "duel screen" (i.e. a primary monitor with your ship and space, and auxiliaries with extra window space).

This is definately something that should be done. I mean it's cool and all having your screen spread accross two monitors, but when the focus of the view sits between the monitors it kinda spoils it. Just have the view skewed permenantly to the left or right slightly, that option would be easy to put in.

Definitely a good idea. Monitors are fairly cheap nowadays.
Also a windowed mode WITHOUT borders like most newer games have now... - Corp Website: RUKON.ORG

I vote for two or three monitors support. And also I vote for 3D glasses support. |

for three monitor support there is no change needed as far as CCP goes. If you use a tripple head matrox box you can split sli mode through one output on your gfx card and still run 3 separate clients or run one client in 1024x3074 or whatever the number is.
I did it and all focus staying on centre screen while you have all chat boxs and local up on the other etc. But i must say that it was just a waste of screen to be honest and really suxs for fleet battle's as your FPS with 2 sli 9800GT;s got me FPS as low as 27 at one point...
If your a carebear with lots of windows open its great.

I would definetly love to have dual screen support.....and yes I know there are programs out there that would do it for you but the pain of setting them up and even with getting your ship stuck in the middle of 2 monitors is frustrating...what's the point of fancy graphics if they're stuck where you can't see them?

Edited by: LoneRider on 21/03/2009 22:55:13 Edited by: LoneRider on 21/03/2009 22:50:28 I often play eve with 2 Monitors... just take an NVidia card, make a "horizontal span" setup, set the resolution in eve and that's it. Playing in 2560x1024. A lot of space for chat, map, browser and stuff. You can even use three Monitors using a Matrox Triplehead2go. OK, with 2 Monitors the shield, armor, structure etc. display is cut in half, showing one half on the one screen and one on the other... but hey, it's still cool.
Most games allow the use of 2 Monitors using the way mentioned above. Civilisation, Gothic 3 etc. No extra software, no nothing.
I programmed a PHP application giving me an extra Map on a second screen, showing systems around me with jumps, fleet members, security status of sectors and kills last hour. nice for tracking a whole fleet.

What else other than a self-centering map would you like to have on a second screen? Maybe I can get some of that inside my application. Realtime Chat output might be possible (without input) but a lot of work. Current Market search is not possible (only via eve-central, which I already use). What else would be nice? If they dont ive it to us, maybe we can help ourselves ^^
btw: eve once had a special dual monitor support, but that's a long time ago...
