I'm sort of wondering if I'm mistaking the 3rd pocket for where the heron is, because that's honestly not that hard of a room with a good Guristas specific tank.
Was reading the EVE Survival of it and it says "Having the lead ship tank the entire pocket is extremely difficult, as it can put down 1300-1500 dps, in a wide variety of configurations. Here are some (extreme) examples:"
I mistakenly thought that meant every time you run it not if you screw up royally and accidentally aggro the whole room. I havent BEEN in a WC lvl 4 in 3 forevers lol

actually, there is a small chance that the acceleration gate will throw you in the middle of the 3rd room leading to aggro of the entire room. I've almost lost a few ships this way with around 5% structure left |

Dont mean to derail the thread,OP. I would like to know,in Eve survival is the 1300-1500 DPS without taking into account resistances? Or does it take some specific number as default. |

I run these in my Rattlesnake with 120K EHP active shield repper - my cap dies in 6 mins - my standard L4 solo fit. Yes it can be uncomfortable, but the answer is to kill the NPCs fast enough. Lock on ASAP and start shooting. Take out BSs first cuz they will break your tank if you don't. Manage drone aggro as needed. My shield will alarm, but I never have to run.
I have dual Omnidirectional Tracking links, dual drone link augmentors, three Caldari Ballistic controllers, and 4@T2 Torpedo Launchers using T1 torps, and dual target painters. Using Gardes + Torps + painters BS's go down fast. Max skills for shields, missiles, drones and painters is strongly recommended. T2 torp launchers really help too, but meta 4 is fine. My torps hit for sure at 44km and miss sometime up to 50K, which is out of range. If I used T2 torps, I could hit up to 50K too.
Once you do this several times, you know that actually have a very good margin for error.
If I have time tonight I'll post my loadout (I'm at work - shhh!) |

I love the Nighthawk for this mission. I used to use the Rattlesnake but its dps I found lacking and its a rather boring ship, good for lvl 5s though. For me though the Nighthawk reigns supreme for lvl 4s for enjoyment. |

LOL, well the lowest ships I have done it in is the arbitrator and caracal, but i usually use the gila. If you can't figure out how simple it is to tank missions, watch the view I posted to prove how easy t1 cruisers can tank l4 missions, you can find them at YouTube under the username hikari2763.
With a faction ship like a gila it should be a real snooze to do wc4 |

Fix your Mids. If you do, you'll have around a 2400 DPS tank vs Sansha. (Hint: I can't think of a single good fit that uses shield rechargers in the mids). Single-Shard, Player DrivenSandbox.

The Rattlesnake tanks better and puts out more DPS than a drake. At this point I'm mostly curious as to exactly why OP is failing so miserably at this mission. Single-Shard, Player DrivenSandbox.

Mind you, there is no way you need more than a ~600 DPS tank, but your mids are terrible anyway. Oh, and what kind of DPS are you putting out. Combined and separated into Missile DPS and Drone DPS.
How do you tank 1600+ dps with 600 dps tank? I was taking 1600 or so when dumbass pulled pocket two and I got out at 30% shields. they were doing more than I could handle even moving at full speed (as slow as that is) lol and Im more the tank. the guy in the Domi is running with almost no tank and all DPS
what would you put in the mids? Best I was looking at 1500 omni Im only doing like 400-500 with drones 503.65 according to EVEHQ As for the fit, Im just running with the one posted a few paged back.

You tank 1600 dps with a 600 dps tank by learning to trigger the spawns when you're ready for them or knocking the DPS down faster than your tank is breaking. Also, your tank on a passive tank is not broken until you are below peak recharge (25%) shields, so it wasn't 1600 dps incoming.
You still need to fix your mids. Rechargers don't belong anywhere, and 2 resist mods is nowhere near enough to patch the EM hole on your ship. If you still want to go for max tank, 2 LSEs and the rest EM and Therm hardeners (Change Hardeners based on opposing faction, ofc).

You were getting chased off of a mission in a Rattlesnake with T2 Purger Rigs. While you had DPS support. That's some hardcore fail. Luckily, you've come here where I will offer you decent-good advice as I mock you. Single-Shard, Player DrivenSandbox.

I WAS having issue at the start of the thread... before I found a fit to use
Ah see I didnt see the T2 rigs in the fit lol yeah I dont have those first off.
It wasnt till one time like three days ago when I was being remote repped and I was doing fine there. I took most of my tank off in fact to do more dps
The dude in the Dominix is usually DPSSing not remote repping anyways The only time he WAS remote repping me was after we jumped out when he warped into the room and it sent him into stuff that aggroed the whole pocket. Thats not exactly controllable as far as I know. So one he warped in and drew all that aggro he jumped out, leaving me with the whole room. He came back in to DPS and yea we were chased off.

dont use the rattlesnake to "actively" do missions, as mentioned there are way better and cheaper options out there. But the Rattlesnake does AFK missioning better than any other ship in the game, and that i how you should use it.

this will tank all serpentis missions with full room aggro, while the drones kills the rats. It wont be fast, but you dont have to do anything either! watch TV, play on your pvp alt or whatever you feel like, and when a pocket/mission is done, do it again. This works for all rat types, just switch hardeners and drones accordingly. with a few exceptions:
Buzz kill and angel extravanza because of drone aggro against sansha, mercenaries and pirate invasion you will need 4 hardeners to be sure not tested in most storylines not tested in the new scarlet mission i dont do faction missions, dont know how it works in them your blood raider fit will need to have passive hardeners and a LSE, because of neuting i have perfect skills for this ship (low skills->more hardeners and maybe cap) and some stuff i might have forgotten
the golden rule being never do the mission afk the first time. you have alot of mids and fitting space for tweaking your fit (like massive attack, i like to have a fit with 2 sebos and an extra drone link, because of the distance to the rats) the mwd is rarely used, worlds collide being one of the exceptions. you dont need the small drones for anything, there is just room for them, heavies can kill anything even interceptors and spider drones (the omnilink helps, but isnt needed)
the entire fit, with hardeners for all rat types will cost around 2.5b isk. the Gila can almost do the same but for a fraction of the price if money is a problem. Dominix and ishtar can be used for some rats, but the pirate ships are better all around, rattlesnake being the only one i have been able to take on all rats with.
so if you are tired of doing the same missions over and over and over again, this is my suggestion. i have tried blitzing in a mach and it is very effective, but boring nonetheless. missioning in eve is more knowing the mission than what ship you are using. its easy to switch your fit, use it! and the obvious, eve survival is your friend |

With that tank, you should be able to handle full room aggro for long enough to kill everything. Remember, your tank isn't broken until you're below 25% shields. Anyway, looks like you've got your fitting issues fixed. Single-Shard, Player DrivenSandbox.
