Since the patch has been deployed, I have been always asking when to use jammer and how does it coorperate with MWD. With 2 points, jammer can stop MWD. Speed is crucial to small ships, so do we fit afterburn and jammer, and hoping the enemy using MWD so that we can beat them in term of speed? I seem quite comfuse by this thing. Anyone can help? Thanks.

Only a warp scrambler shuts off MWD not the warp disruptor and neither does 2 points. So having 2 disruptors on a target will not shut off its MWD. |

A scrambler becomes crucial since the webs have a decresed effect 60% speed reduction if im not mistaken. The tracking is not as good as before so things need to be slower transversaly to hit.
If your tank is speed you need to stay out of scrambler range (15km) is safe with overheating unless they are using a Gallente recon.
As for tackling ships i think a scrambler is ideal without a MWD most ships will go quite slow.
Not sure if this answers your questions but its general info. |

Goes like this i think:
Close range Frigs/AFs should use AB, scram.
Close range inties (tanaris/claw) should use MWD scram.
Long range inties (Ares/crow) should fit MWD, disruptor AND scram (if possible, need decent fitting skills)
My wolf doesnt have a web and it can outrun most cruisers with AB on,, even while webbed.
So yes, for small ships, except long range inties, i think scram is pretty much needed. But thats just my humble opinion.

You are allowed to fit an AB instead of a MWD if you fit into one of the following categories:
1) Vagabond pilot who is very sure that they will only be engaging BCs or larger.
2) Arazu pilot with a faction scram and Recon V.
3) Pilgrim pilot with at least +5.0 standings with at least one god.
4) Anyone planning on operating in no-MWD deadspace areas (in which case AB is mandatory).
5) Anyone who wishes to become a comedy killmail.
There are no exceptions to this rule.
As for scram, it has possible uses. It sucks for primary tackle, as in small gang scenarios where you care about shutting off the MWD, you will not be able to tackle very much before it warps off. On the other hand, disabling the MWD is a very powerful effect, so if you have a way to ensure the tackle already, it is possibly worth fitting on short-range ships (such as blaster/AC ships) to compensate for the nerfed webs. |
