The talk you heard is common. People invest time and emotions in this game and having your hard work stolen and not able to punish the thief is frustrating. That kind of trash only plays the game to harass others. And when they cant they whine and quit.
Battleship mining in 0.9 space is done because they can use harvies without risk. If anyone wish to stop the bs mining in 0.9 then shoot the harvies
I am Danish living in the states
Freedom of speach (or action) here is a myth it does not exist I got atleast twice as many personal freedoms in Denmark as i do here
Europe is much bigger on personal freedom then the US with that said its easyer to become rich in the US then in Europa (although its useally on someones else's expense)
anyway the issue peoble should always talk respectfully to each other and most deferently not make RL threats in a game thats just ignorant

The issue here isn't the ore thief, or the strip miner. It's the way the strip miner reacted, in the instant he began to throw insults, particularly RL related ones I would've reported him for harrassment. No need for that kind of behaviour, it is only a game after all. ------------------------------------------------ I've always owned Kehmor, cheap as chips off Ebay

ok the way i see it this is a game, but its a game that follows real life of the 16th centruy, there are pirates, there are bounty hunters, there is lawless territory and you get hanged for committing a small crime, so on that note, ore thieving fits in nicly as this happened all the time, im not as ore thief, i can think of easier ways of making money, but the fact that petty crimanal exsit is what makes the game realistic, for example if a burgular robs your house and you attack him not only will the police arrest you the thief will most likly sue you as well :) so just be glad theres no lawyers in the game

The help with Perception
Ore thiefs are ****ers, end of story
i noticed that too, ya beat me to it
as the original poster notes, we have freedom of speech. this is an example of its other edge.
ore thieves or silly enough, but this one obviously thinks it's clever and witty as well . Of course, battleship miners in .9 space don't have much to recommend them neither
...Wait, "Big Doggy?"
Oh ffs i noted a lone pilot by that name in .4 but saw nothing noteworthy or worth my time. A pity
PS Moriarity: i love your sig, you sherlock-killing scum, but please please please please "DEFUSAL," Mmmkay? lub ya lots
PPS: don't be too hard on the original poster, as a youngin from the US he's a world noob. they tell us we must go to the most boring place on earth, by law, for at least 16 years, so they can beat it into our heads up down and sideways that we're free as free can be, and if we try to leave this boring place before those 16 years are up we'll be arrested
You are in a maze of twisty little asteroids, all alike. |

just have anyone who takes something out of a can wich was put there by corp member or gangmember criminally flagged.
that would mean that if you are in the gang or in the corp of the person who put the can there then you can take out of the can.
orethiefs should get risk vs reward also not only reward. that would actually make the thiefs have to think a little about their aproach to stealing ores.

There needs to be a lot less .5 and above and a lot more .4 and below and just make it worthwhile for people to want to gang up and mine.
They have corp skills that assist with speed and shields why not with mining efficiency?
I see it both ways. There are a lot of .5 and above more than the noobs could use in many lifetimes. Some of these need to converted downwards.
Make it so that it behooves people to gang up instead of having to trust this person isn't going to f you as soon as you arrive at the belt.
That way .4 wouldn't be so terrifying for all these solo BS miners and they could get together and efend their cans at the same time.
But tbh this is how I see ore theivery: If you are BS mining in .5 above you pay the price simple as that.
Ore thieves who steal from frigate pilots in .5 and above is f'd up imo. Give the noobs a break.

ive had some players who have smack talked me in local - i just choose not to respond. but its funny to read some of the childish things they post and or write - but then again there are those who are actually good at smack talk and they are actually fun to chat with. as for stealing ore - i dont agree with it but there will be those in this game who will do it. ive never had a problem with it personally but i can say for certain it wouldnt make me very happy so who knows what i would do but i certainly wouldnt threaten someone in r/l.
in r/l im an ordnance technician - so same applies for running
saddest day in EVE by far is when my sec rating went positive........*sobs* |

"Are we takling all this too seriously?" Waaaay too seriously...
"It seems to me people get too upset over the loss of a little ore. But I don't know, thats just my opinion." I agree with you...but that's just my opinion.
People don't like the US too much these days, do they? Sensitive people may look at that Freedom of Speech comment differently, but it seemed quite innocent (if not naive) to me.
