I know a lot of people here have invested a lot of time coming up with flashy JPEG sigs and I can assure you I'm very impressed.
But to me huge sigs mean endless scrolling and add nothing to the debate...
So it would be nice to be able to switch off downloading other peoples' sigs. Is this possible?

Not, suppose you could disable JPG's or something through your browser though, probably not the best idea however.

I agree. These people waste 50% of the topic space to their sigs. Like Josha Calvert, 95% sig and 5% commentary.

There's a better way. Install a decent browser, look for the offending sig.. Right click, block images from this server.  No need to kill all graphics entirely.

Having recently acquired a lab slot (thank you, rental bug), I wholeheartily concur, there's absolutely no problem with lab slots! |

Hmmm.. I like sigs.... but it would be nice if the forum was more user friendly with features like turning off sigs or search engine an stuff.

Some sigs can be a little distracting, but they don't exactly get in the way of a debate, do they?

If you use Firefox browser you can set it so that only images from the originating website load (ie just official images, and sigs hosted elsewhere wont load).
But that still leaves you with all the text in some sigs tho.
ps-Oh and Killash Larz, with a sig that (file) size, I wouldn't advertise you're gonna make it much bigger ;-)

Sigs are cool but it all depends if there good or not, if there a joke and look like sumet made in paint then I agrea they shouldnt be on here.
