AKA not just crappy toys for PVE?
To be honest they do fall under the category of useless ships that we have ingame atm.
Maybe make it so they don't have mixed gun setups?
And maybe the fitting requirements a bit less strict too as I doubt anyone would waste a full faction fit on a bit of a rubbish disposable frig when for the same price... well ya know.

For example?
The Republic Fleet Firetail is pretty good - comparable to an interceptor. Sure, it is more expensive but is the best-looking frigate in game by far.

I'd hoped faction ships might have dropped a fair bit with the LP changes a while back, to the point where you could reclaim 60-70% of its value back on insurence, well, atleast for the faction frigates.
As they stand there too expensive to see pvp (Why spend all that on a firetail to tackle when a vigil will do it slightly worse, but for a fraction of the price?)

- agree, they only have that "pimp" status. Firetail might be the exception, but there really isn't a good reason to fly those things.
Make special bonuses for them or something. For example make them boost implants or such. No normal bonuses, but +5%lvl on HG Snakes etc.
Make them special!

I've got several kills in my Firetail in FW plexes, where it fits well in (due to size restrictions).
Also, it's worth having just for the sexy look!

But, what is wrong with pointless expensive "pimp your e-peen" ships?
People have pointless status symbols in RL, why not in Eve? There is still plenty of other useful stuff.

They look cool and the have slightly better stats then the rest of the frigates... what more do you want?
Make them better and everyone will want one, make them cheaper and every one will have one. Keep them as is and those that feel they need their e-peen accentuated will fly one.

Oh it may not look all that usefull, but just wait till you get stuck in a system with heavy fog. Then you'll be wishing you had a frigate with headlights.

faction frigs didnt get boost after most frigats did get boost same was tru 4 battleships a while ago but nobody relly cared bout faction frigs ccp should do something about it but their concurnd wit selling box version which has nu ship they could also giv luv to facction frigs tbh

hey... what about t1 frigs! they need to be conmpletely revamped as well! yea the rifter kestrel and merlin are fine... but why not fix up the slasher, and the condor to be practical cheap and yet less efficient interceptors. i think they were ment to, but noone really realize that they cap out in like 20 seconds, and cant fit much of anything
and i can promise, noones going to cry about t1 frigates getting a boost

Faction ships are generally meant to cost as much as there T2 class equivilant while offering around the same sort of performance.
I can't speak for the rest but I feel that the Navy Comet should field 4 light Neutron 2 with a 3 mid slot and 3-4 low slot to do what it's discription says it does. Think of a mix between an Enyo and ishkur. And if it only gets 2 turret harpoints have it bonused to the equivilant of 3 with more drone bay or 4 with no drone bay.
And we need a 2nd faction frigate for the other specialty. So the comet for blasters and something else for mostly drones.
Signatures are annoying...kinda like me. |

Factionals fall in the MoM syndrome. "Oh a monther ship! Lets kill it".
"Oh a factional, lets kill it".
They can't mod the factionals to make them handle primary dps and when people see them, they think fat kill.
When EvE PvP has true value and doesn't revolve around a Kill board, these ships will have some sort of use. Untill then, they are and will remain, fat kills. |

faction frigs/cruisers are just cost ineffective imo, they don't really do anything better than their t2 counterparts.
luckily faction battleships can run missions/pvp pretty well. missions about on par with the t2 variant, and pvp well better than the t2 variant.

Thankfully noones decided to pick me up on it and complain at me, but just for clarity, I agree that there's a few faction frigates that are actually quite good, just I can think of small few that need some love.
I'm pretty sure they won't reduce the price of them as that's been gone over before, but they might consider some little balance tweaks to certain ones.
