what do u think its better? my noob opinion
blasters: low optimal/low failoff/huge dmg(not usre)/best track speed/good RoF autocannons: sucky optimal/high failoff/low dmg(possibly because of no cap needed)/2on best track speed/ same RoF as blaster
ur opinion plz

i just did some test, without the skills because all weapons have different skills that do same so i took numbers from t2 large blaster and ac and ammo is highest dmg t2 ammo.i didnt used the 0.5% of ammo becaus both have it
blaster dmg of 1=235 chance to hit 100% 75% 50% 25% km 5.400 7.900 10.400 12.900 autocannon dmg of 1=181 chance to hit 100% 75% 50% 25% km 2.400! 6.400! 10.400! 14.400
it seems that only at 25% projectile have bigger range

Autocannons have overall better range (that falloff counts) and can manage different damage types with different ammo (which blasters cannot).

In addition, autocannons have better tracking than blasters. If I'm not mistaken, blasters have the worst tracking in the game. To put it simply for new players, "tracking" refers to the ability to hit a target moving at a tangent to you (like if you're orbiting it, or someone is orbiting you).

i compared 2 best large blasters and large autocannons
and blaster have the best tracking> autocannon >lazers

Yep. More range on a weapon always is balanced with worse tracking.
For example:
Pulse lasers are the longest range "short" range weapon and have the worst tracking as a result.
Beam Lasers are the shortest range "long" range weapon and have the best tracking as a result.

looking at number projectile turrets have bigger range only when they are 25% chance or 49%with very small difference

i tested with the best t2 large blasters and autocannons and with the highest dmg t2 ammo. i didnt take in consideration any skills or ammo + because there are different skills for each type of turret that gives same bonuses. only good thing of autocannons is that they dont take cap but they have low dmg AND low range according to that image autocannons have only bigger range when they have 50% chance to hit

Oh yeah...I forgot no cap use on projectiles.
Blasters are cap hungry.
No cap use is quite an advantage in several different ways. Not to be ignored.

is the capless autocanons so good advantage that can cover for worst range and not so good dmg |

As always the answer is it depends but it absolutely can.
A blaster ship can be Neut/Nossed into uselessness.
An autocannon ship can devote all its cap to tank and even if capped out can still shoot.
Autocannons do have better range overall so while not doing great damage that is more than zero damage the blaster ship can do.
Guess who controls range? (Hint: Minnies almost always do as their ships are generally the fastest in the game...at least they have the advantage here usually)
Add in projectiles have some control over damage types so can more easily hit the holes in your tank.
All that said if a blaster ship gets on top of you and can hold you there a bit you are in a world of hurt.
All tradeoffs.
