I'm looking for a way to precisely get to a certain location on the system map. In other words, say I'm looking at the System view of the ingame map and my ship is at a planet. I want to get to an arbitrary spot between this planet and another planet, but there's no warpable object to warp to. I know that I can create a bookmark midwarp, but it seems to be hit and miss where I wind up.
Two questions:
1) Is there a way to precisely determine where between the two warapable objects you want the bookmark to be created? I've tried hitting the Ok button at the precise location designated by my ship in the animation on the system map view, but it's never actually created there, it's way off. Is there a better way to do this?
2) Alternatively, is there some other way to arbitrarily get to a particular location in space?
Thanks,

Edited by: Tzar''rim on 14/02/2009 20:47:35 There's a few ways to warp somewhere;
- using a celestial, gates, planets etc - using a mission BM - using a previous BM - warping to a fleet member - using a probe
So if it's not at a celestial, you don't have a BM for it, no fleet member is there and you can't get a probe lock then no, you can't go to a specific place. You can try using the warp/BM method and with some practice you can be fairly accurate (within 1-2 AU) but that's about it.

1) It's just lag. Keep your mouse on "add bookmark" and your finger on the enter key. This way you can keep hitting 'add' and then 'enter' very quickly. It'll give you a row of bookmarks quite close to each other. One will probably be what you want, or only slightly off and can be narrowed down between 2 points you just made. Then delete the ones you don't need.

Ah, great suggestion, thanks. I'm going to practice that technique.

Slow warping ships (destroyers and bigger warp at 3AU/s) will reduce the gap between bookmarks and may aid in accuracy. Frigates warp at 6AU/s and will spread the bookmarks out even if you try to create them as quickly as possible.
