i know this has been pointed out before but im severely annoyed with this. i used to take part in 60 ships battles without a lag problem at all, i now enter into a 1v1 and it takes me 45 secs to activate ANY modules including tanking items

Nize site, allredy knew it. My problem is not tweaking or speed, and i think Jadruts isnt either, there is something wrong with the CCP servers, ccp have allready acknowledged this and are working on it, i wonder when they will be finnished So Say I. Einheriar Ulrich of the Bloodline of Einheriar.

Jadrut,
Are the eve-online forums loading fast for you?
I have the same problem as you (although not to that degree) and I have a 384/128 adsl line. Weird thing is that on my 56k modem on the other PC (that logs on from a different ISP) I got almost no net lag except on extreme ship numbers (and the forums load much faster)
I believe it has to do with the routing of data from your ISP to the Eve servers... like how a chain is as strong as it's weakest link

ElCoCo's (I like that name - it's my affection name for Compressed Coils, CoCo's) probably on the money - it's not about bandwidth, it's about latency or ping.
Eve actually takes far less bandwidth than you might imagine. Look at the amount of data being shifted. What is the problem is that 56k users tend to find that they're making 20 hops before ending up at the Eve server. -----------------------------------------------

Actualy...
In my case the hops done towards the eve servers are less when I'm on the adsl and that's when I experience BAAAAAD forum lag (2minutes plus to even start loading a page) and ofcourse game slowdowns.
Weird thing is that by doing tracert and pinging all the servers seperately (until the point where there is no tracert response), everything "looks" normal.
Somewhere on the way there is a bad link, that drags us in a bottomless pit

use your brain and you may find out that some people cant get DSL based on technical issues.
and when you use your eyes combined with your brain then you might have read that everything was very ok till some of the last updates
and after really really extreme brain using you might come to the conclusion that this is not a perfect situation, there are many modem players out there Wanna fly with me?

Well vegeta, i have a 1024/512 broadband connection, never used to have any significant lag, never.
But since the last couple of patches, i have been lagged out, and it shows, that there is something wrong. I think the problem lies in the code, and how it renders ship models in space, just a guess. So Say I. Einheriar Ulrich of the Bloodline of Einheriar.

Me being 56k, and living in the middle of nowhere (broadband comes to my area, 10th april) - I'm sick of the fact that alot of broadband players see us as being a "lower class" - that we can't do ****, or can do **** but do it worse. When up until recently, that hasn't been the case with Eve.
There are currently 3 "major" mmorpgs with a decent playerbase, that are playable on 56k. Eve, Star Wars Galaxies, and UO. And eve is becoming readily unplayable, with recent patches. I'd love to see a CCP statement on 56k's specifically - do you intend to let those of us on 56k remain viable ingame? Or is this something I've got to leave behind. I'd imagine that like me, alot of the Eve playerbase is 56k because its one of the very few playable mmo's.
Rumors of my clones death are greatly exaggerated. But I am still INACTIVE
