March 21st: Massive amounts of griefing and 10 times that in floodposted complaints in every forum leading to serious butthurt at the GM department.
April 2nd: GMs heads explode and the majority of the survivors emoragequit when their petition boxes starts crashing their computers due to Jita2007 style lag.
April 10th: Of three remaining sane CSM mebers, two tries to argue with the community why sharding will be necessary, Darius is busy clicking the "accept" button to thousands of applications for the latest goon corp "pubbieswarm". The remains of the CSM is promptly declared heretics by the phlegm drooling forum masses.
July 10th: 4,000 ships are DDd in Jita when a titan operated by "lollercopter" sneaks through from wormhole space where it has been idling for 3 months awaiting a singularity big enough. Massive ragequits ensues in two waves, first when GMs refuse to re-imbure cus the "logs show nothing" and secondy when CCP declares the whole thing an exploit and tries to return assets to affected players.
December 24th: goonswarm swells to 20.000 members by December, eve is declared DEAD by 32.33% of the server population and EPICLULZ by another 32.33% (repeating of course).
Feb 22nd: Eve dies in a huge ****s n giggles poast on 4chan and on a hacked Fox News website.

My experience from several years with MMOs tells me a large influx of newbs will arrive with high expectations. They will whine about how the game doesn't live up to those expectations. The older players will whine as well about how the newbs are somehow destroying the game and how CCP is "failsauce."
The newbs will start leaving while posting stupid crap like "I'm leeving gaem b/cuz i cant lvl my d00d quickly" and "i cant walk in stations, wtfbbq?!", and some will stay.
Everything will level off, and the server cluster will average a couple thousand more players on daily, and people will continue to do what they've always done.

Originally by: Ris Dnalor Edited by: Ris Dnalor on 15/02/2009 20:40:19 I have my own thoughts on the matter, most of which include me running screaming to the most distant corners of 0.0 space sometime prior to M10.
I am curious, however what other people are thinking.
- How many new players do you think will come from the boxed release?
- How will it affect traffic, market sales, and available resources in hi sec?
- With all the players coming so close together, how will it affect their ability to draw on a limited number of older players willing to help newer players learn the game?
- What other predictions do you have?
I predict unprecedented amounts of whining from Eve 1337 d3wds.

Based on my own general experience, I can hear a lot of whine cheese and refunds being asked for.
Why my own experience?
Well because in general patches have never completely or reliably worked on my box, so much to the fact that I don't bother go fish for a day or two and then download the full client for a complete install at about 48 hrs after patch release.
Since the box version is a old QR build and at first install and connection, it will auto patch....
Lets hope the broad patch is stable and reliable for all those atariland subscribers.
