IAC as a whole changed, the culture changed, and the reasons for playing changed.
Decisions were made, corp culture was set, and a more 'left wing' PVP attitude developed. We started Recruiting heavily to fill the ranks.. and still we PVPd.
I think something happened to the Soul of IAC in the fires and combat in FAT.
That Will and Desire to survive no matter the odds.. the Spirit of the drunken warrior who knows no end because he always has his brother.. It was the loss of the bond between our members and the loss of.. identity...
So.. TT dont go giving yourself credit for everything, you were there, and you just like the rest of us, helped push IAC further towards the end.. But I think it was EVE herself that did the old Cat in. EVE is a cruel mistress and she will swallow you alive if you give her a chance.
Thundirr out.
And this is why I will never forget Thundirr, the biggest ret4rd in all of IAC.

Originally by: Tyrrax Thorrk as for FIRMA/DKOD leaving being some kind of beginning of end, they'd been destroying morale with their constant whining and naysaying for months before and when they finally did leave it was a huge improvement as far as I'm concerned :P
sure, we might have whined a bit, if that's what want to call the complaints about carebears dying left and right to roaming gangs while we struggled to get a gang together to counter it? or maybe you're refering to the suggestions i made on an executive level about how we could increase pvp performance by actually putting some expectations on the countless corps that you let in? the only naysayings i remember was your respons which ran along the lines of how "IAC is a carebear alliance, we can never change". i don't want to comment much on what happend in iac after we left, but it's funny how you salute yourself with excellent improvements like standardization, two years after we suggested it.
you might have kept iac on the map by performaning a few diplomatic stunts now and then, i can give you that, but imo that doesn't automaticly make an alliance successfull, or fun to be in.
we tried to have some fun in iac, but it became obvious that the kind of fun we were looking for had no future in iac. the only way i remember you participated to any fun-factor was by bringing some odd expensive ship into a fight and failing horribly (and yeah, that's an awesome way of improving morale btw).
apart from that, we had alot of good times in iac, and most of the ppl we flew with (the ones that wheren't busy ratting and mining all the time) was a great bunch, so sksl to that :)

<3 IAC!
Now my take on the collapse of IAC had more to do with the crap space we lived in then the policital problems every alliance faces. JZV constellation is nearly as horrible as Providence is for safety and ISK making. I would never make isk in that constellation as id be popped by Sunsets before Id make it to the belts Granted -A- is a super power alliance I think the moment IAC lost to -A- was the day that Reunion joined up with the ebil russian oberlords!
But onto better times. I think alot of things have changed since the fall of the durnken cat. I think the formation of IAC at this point in time would be very possible and very impossible. The main pvp corps from IAC (Bof,MVN,IPWN,) Are all involved in different powerblocks and a reuniting would take alot of incentive.
Now onto better times!! <3 OrDer (Even if he did steal IACs PVPers!) <3 Narc for coming on TS during my fleets when he was totaly hammered. <3 Avi...must I say more?? <3 the rest of you drunkards!!
Narc where you at man? Im surprised you havent posted in this fail thread about this failure of an alliance . |

Quite a few of us ended up in AAA too - Warhamsters, DKOD as entire corporations and individual people from various IAC corporations (most of them also ending up in WARH, DKOD and some RAT.)
Other than that, it's all over the universe, yes

IAC's purpose was fractured when TT was booted, if you want to call "purpose" "culture" then you could blame it on culture.
DKOD and FIRMA left because they felt the direction and purpose of IAC was no longer congruent with their corporate direction and purpose. Which at the time I would very much agree with.
When TT took over again just prior to his actions of theft, he was giving direction once again to the alliance, which is why it was improving.
Ultimately the failure of IAC was due to the loss of a unifying direction. When half of your corps don't agree with the alliance leaderships direction you have a problem. So when -A- decided to retaliate in game due to a forum bash (which I don't blame them for) the fracture widened and since Hachou didn't have enough of the corps on his side, failure ensued.
I <3 IAC and miss it daily :)
