I was under the impression that if you stopped a research project you got a data sheet with worth the amount of points the project had accumulated.
However instead of giving data sheet as it did on chaos it wiped all the progress.
Was this a mistake or are projects no longer portable?

<PapaSmurf> We had to kill the transfer because of exploitability and little use. I'll probably put it back in in january or february, in some exploit-proof and cooler fashion.

Right now I honestly don't miss them being portable and tradeable. Eve has enough isk printing machines.
I'd appreciate simply being able to store the RP accumulated in a project on my character so I could switch research projects without ditching days of research.
And I think the game would benefit more in the long run by such an implementation as it'd allow for more depth in bp lottery criteria. Right now, it's 1 dimensional. Reach X amount and have a chance at Y blueprint. With such an implementation, the ability to reward those that researched the right fields in the right amounts would be a possibility. Allowing research characters to feel a little bit like researchers.
I mean its like you want corporations to oblige each other like its sex or something. Pffft I would rather **** my enemy.- Rohann

So as things stand now once I commit to a research project I am stuck with the agent who runs it.
Wow.
I am stunned. Without being able to change who runs the project I cannot take advantage of anything I might learn about the system once I start it. Spending time to improve standing with a corp for the purpose of upgradeing to a better agent is pointless once a project has been started.
If PapaSmurf says some form will return in january and february, I believe it will. But in the 4-8 weeks until then why not put in a system that allows one to move your own projects from agent to agent every so often.
That way my work at improve standing with a research corp will allow me to improve the research I get by moveing to a better agent. That way if I learn there are better corps for certain types of research I can take advatage of that knowledge.
Present implementation is just too unforgiving.

If he could implement that before saying it will return in jan/feb, surely he would. I'm sure you didn't do so deliberately, but in effect, you're asking him to put in as a temporary fix, exactly what he's going to put in as a permanent fix when he can.
Something we just have to live with, for now, unless you persuade him that it's too high a priority to leave for a month.
