no, because thatone's rubbish too.
a little box for your status into which a red/green light indicating if you're warp scrambled or not, and the name of the person scrambling you (if there are multiple scrams on you, then the most recent name, once they die, the next one in line - easily determined by when the scramble cycles finish).
with a button to return the lock - allowing you to lock them from that indicator rather than hunting through the overview for them.
EDIT:
here's a scaled up version of what i had in mind. this could sort of sit in the corner of your interface, below the overview - or it could be a movable window
OMFG I HAS BEEN SCRAMMED! ========================================== Iy

Devs should spend some time playing Anarchy Online and copy their effect window.
It's great way to see friendly / unfriendly "buffs" and effects which are going on and how long do they take (even what are their effects in mouse over popup). Effect window doesn't have to be that big to be very useful. I'd love to have something like that in EVE.

The messages are useless for anything but determining how hard you are pwning the enemy, or vice versa. Scramble notifications just flash by too fast, and zooming into a large engagement, actively looking around your ship for faint blue thingies while **** is exploding around you is a recipy for lag and disaster.

beeing webbed is easy to notice without indicators.

A more visible effect like the webifier would be handy. Spinning blue orb around your ship or something like that. ---

Yeah, just some kind of indicator would be great. Fixing the EW indicator to actually say what kind of EW is coming at you would be great, too. --- Proud Amarr pilot.

Made a REALLY rudimentary picture of how it could look:
Clciky for Linkage and HUD goodnes!
Something like that would work nicely, and would be consistent on the ship developers actually putting on their ships
So yeah, i have a problem with being serious, but it's the almost smallest problem i have. |

Well, background in game graphics, level/game design and such help in designing content. Especially at this rudimentary level
But i know it's not as easy as it might seem 'cause you have to do this and that and those and then drink some beer and then rethink and the art boys and the code boys have big wifflebat fights about things and you're sitting there with your face buried in your face going "I hate my life, i hate my life..." and...well...you get the point.
So yeah, i have a problem with being serious, but it's the almost smallest problem i have. |

I just guess that im scrambled in most fights i have, it would be useful to know who is scramming you though so you pop them before more people show up to kill you.

Meh, just assume you are. It's fun to be able to sometimes pew-pew someone even when you capped out and your scrambler missed a cycle (projectile weapons ftw).
Anyway, it's not just being scrambled, also tracking distruption, ECM, dampening etc, none of them have any good indication.

Edited by: Deven Sunstorm on 30/08/2007 11:09:46 I vote YES for GUI features that would indicate better to the pilot the status of serious Electronic Warfare (EW) effects on his/her ship.
The fact that there are no warning indicators for such ship threatening effects like warp scrambling only shows a serious laziness on the part of the developers. This should have been part of the client to begin with.

We don't need anything for ECM, TDs, RSDs or Target painters really. We already have some indication that someone is jamming us, or using a damp/tracking disruptor or target painters. All that is really need it a warp scrambling indicator.
Something like this would work nicely. The speed thing could just go red, or flash red or whatever, like someone suggested earlier.

Well i jsut thought more of it, and sometimes you can get alot of different things on you, so in spirit of things, would be rather nice to have that.(since people are gonna ask for it anyhoo some day )

I can tell that I'm being scrammed by trying to warp. But what I'd like to know is that who scrams. So there could be small icon on overview upon the ship which is scramming you.
