I'm still lucky to have both my parents at this point, but my partner lost their father too a couple years ago and every anniversary since is a very significant day for them, so can certainly understand that. Definitely sending my thoughts and many hugs. Sounds like you're enjoying some of the good memories, pretty cool that you had that connection with gaming and he bought you the EVE boxed set!

Have you tried DCS World yet? I'm an old combat flight sim junkie as well. MicroProse's F-19 Stealth Fighter got me hooked, and the genre peaked with Falcon 4.0 and Jane's F-15 (IMO). Kinda died a bit after that. DCS devs seem intent on resurrecting it.

The thing is that the net is an university net, not some commercial provider and its the only possible wired internet there. So only other option is wireless and the ones are hell expensive + data limited ... So only real solution is to move from that dorm to some normal flat. And I really thingking of going that way ... |

Yayy!! Hobart hmm, has half of the population of my city. Might be a very lovely place. But I might be quite annoying with one thing. You have the deadliest animals down there in Australia so I would be asking there all the time: "Can this kill me?!!" We have only one snake here that could kill you, but the poison is very weak, and like 1 spider, but again very weak. You down there have like 16416464 of such things :-DD

There's been some weird stuff changed (or proposed) lately.
Stuff like the fleet warp change seems like it addresses such a niche problem but the change itself will have some swathing effects. We'll adapt though. But between that and the whole watchlists thing I'm just banging my goggles into the desk.
Hehe, and yeah, that quote surely couldn't be from a wormholer? I hate scanning at the best of times but that would just be pure, liquid horror.

There's nothing really super deadly in our part of the country. Couple venomous snakes, maybe red back spiders. Tasmania's quite different from the rest of the country, environmentally.
In years past I used to do a lot of hiking and "peak bagging". In all that time out bush I think I can count the amount of snakes I ever saw on one hand. It can get really cold down here though, so maybe not the place to be if you like heat or the tropics. Economy and employment is ******, but in honesty it's still a lovely state with good quality of life on the scale of things.
Iam The Flash wrote:I have 6 kids, i can relate to this I couldn't even begin to imagine the amount of work involved in raising 6 kids.
I only have two to contend with and even that is crazy enough at times.

@Candi LeMew It was from a Burning Napalm guy. You know, the guys from NC., that fly only supers and titans, which I respect, but hell dont comment on scaning things ...
I like colder weather. Summers here kill me ... What I dont like is stron windy weather. And youre on the island, so probably theres such a wind quite a lot. But here is windy too, its an open area, so yes I think I would get used to the weather conditions :-D |

The Fleet Warp changes look pretty ******, even though they're not relevant to me. However, there's a funny little perk from that comes with this.
>Be in a low level mission site, normal space >Be in an ECCM ship with a scan size of 1.33 >Surround yourself with crap in the site and drop cargo containers everywhere >Only Covert Ops ships that have Sisters Probes and Virtues can theoretically warp to you >They have to warp to you first >Kill them >Literal Profit. |

only way i see around that is if the cov ops positions themselves at range from you, in alignment from something else.
say, 100km behind you, with a planet on the other side. fleet warps to cov ops at 100, lands on your head.
warp something like a Lachesis in ahead of the fleet to tackle you for bonus points.
also, hai Ferni *fluffles*
