It is good nodes only. Bad nodes show up anywhere. It could be the mystery boxes which are usually bad, but the defense nodes show up anywhere.

It's the range to the nearest 'good' node. If you have a 2 showing, that means somewhere two away is a buff, mystery node, or central core.

Biggest problem you're going to have using a blockade runner is cargo space. They can barely fit a packaged cruiser. If you're moving small items around, it can work, but it's not sufficient for any meaningful volume of goods.

When you get a partial hit - say a 28% hit on a 4AU scan, the dot is not exactly where the signature actually is. The amount it's off is the scan deviation. The probe strength determines your % of hit for a specific scan.
