I agree on both notes - lost 2 ogres last night to a similar incident. While not as large a monetary loss as yours, it crippled my combat capability and I had to crawl back to "production" space.

I like the idea, but I have concerns that it would negative any "risk vs reward" of going outside empire space. However, if you made it inefficient enough......I think it would be a valuable and interesting addition to the game.

Here's the deal: expanders are expensive. 20+ million for a good one. I've been holding out for quite some time, waiting for Cargo Expander IIs to show up. Lots of time has passed, and I'm sitting here wondering - "where are they?" Anyone hazard...
