Try editing your prefs.ini file in the cache folder. Set the Buffer size from 80 to 256. Give that a shot. Also, if its a Windows Xp box, you can go Start > Run > Msconfig then right click on eve.exe in the processes and change the priority...

Well.... Interesting night. I didn't lock up once last night, now its just freezing at the end of the warp cycle and then unfreezing - then continues on to dock. The odd thing is - if I face my ship's front when I am warping and never turn around...
