No such thing as AFK mining in eve. to find a boulder big enough for you to go afk for more than say half an hour ud have to be in lower sec space in which case.. you couldnt be afk. Unless you'd like your barge reprocessed for free :)

Well just to get an idea.. i have a char that i have just stuck 2 implants on him for int and memory both + 2(the to attributes needed for learning skills. Then the level 3 Memory recall training time went down from 7h 35m to 6h 4m. So you can see...

EVE has been around for so long that your noob has slim to no chance taking on the most inexperienced of pirates. mine in 0.5 space or higher.. use drones to protect you. enter 0.4 space in full battle mode and kiss ur ar*e good buy.

When the drones mine the ore doesnt go directly into your cargo hold does it? the drones lap up the ore until they are full then return and dump it before going out to mine again correct??
