Been flying around lowsec on SISI last night, and noticed one very promising thing.
Battleship rats, in lowsec, all over the place. Mind you, just single BS worth 500k each with a couple frig supports, but still...
Please, please say this will be on TQ aswell CCP! Maybe belts would be populated again in lowsec, making good old fashion belt-piracy flourish like in the old days.
I'll buy you all beers at FF if this is going to happen.

Peeps will still not hunt there. If there is a chance of looseing a 60 mil+ battleship, then no one will show up.
Because, pirates will be out more often.

Tbh, I believe they will. And there is really no need for a BS to hunt 500k rats. You could do that in an Incursus.
EDIT: can't seem to find the devblog this is discussed in... anyone has a link to it?

Why use a 60 mil BS when you could use a pair of frigates?
Think teamplay...
You can take those down with ships like a Vexor, the most expensive in that will be the drones! Killed serpentis BS in syndicate with incursus (teams of cheap ratters of 2 or 3, the very cheap rust squadron), enyo (alone, but can be slightly longer on bigger BS), vexor and myrmidon, you really don't need a BS. Stay little and manoeuvrable, escape the pirates!
That's really kinda cool, this means there will be people in the belts, either to shoot, to defend, to make traps for pirates (or anti-pirates). Very good move to improve lowsec!

500k single bs spawns are still far less than in 0.0

0.0 doesnt need a boost, lowsec does ! so can't see there being any change to 0.0 bountys
as a pirate i'm very happy about this, even if it doesnt attract more people to low sec, it'll give us something to kill while we hunt :)

Actually there are fair amount of HAC's out there that do very nicely for ratting.
So a BS would be a case of, if you don't have a choice do to lack of skills.

I agree with you 100% teamplay rocks. But no one wants to split the bounty, and so many want to be able to solo play this gang based game.

They'll have to account for that added ISK somehow, probably nerfing bounties in 0.0, AGAIN!
(I suspect they did it around/just before christmas)

Then I guess the "more reward - more risk" comes into play :p
And seriously, a 500k bs rat you'd chew through in seconds with an AF solo. Ofc, there will be people out in their battleships aswell NPCing, and I do look forward to getting to know them

Veto has always been one of my favourite pirates, but I haven't seen you enough in space. I guess you got a bit bored having no targets...
But soon will be the time for us all to go to the belts and blow ships! I hope it will we as fun as I can hope for.

I've ratted 0.0 in a arbitrator kitted for pvp (Though admittly 3x1mil+ BS spawns caused problems). Infact a passive shield tanked arbi might be able to sneak in a I stab or two, still tank the rats, and align fast for quick safe spot fleeingness.

In a way, this is nice. Will allow more people in low sec, eager to get ISK. So we can hunt them...
Still... 500k rats?!? That's 0.0 rats, most of the time...
I'll assume 0.0 rats will have their bounties upgraded too?!?

In fact, 500k rats is better than Drone Regions. Yes, less ISK. But much less effort, and much less risk. So... will alloys get upgraded too? Or we'll have the "Alloys are Drone Regions ore is fine" talk for over a year again (and proven wrong once again)

Actually that is a separate issue. Increasing the drop rate in the drone regions would only further plummet the mineral prices. And you would end up having to kill the same number of RATs you do now to account for the loss in profit.
If it doesn't tank the market all together making the drone region worthless.
Your fix is simply less Ratting means less minerals which means higher prices.
Or the drones regions problem is the lack of wars, or not enough of them.

To be honest even in Outer Ring I've hardly seen BS rats below 650k. And Outer Ring sucks.
Also, so far I've only seen single BS spawns in lowsec, so you won't be chain-farming triple-bs spawns there...

So.. **** the Drone Regions? Rats are harder to kill and tank than all others, but they are the ****tiest of them all (by effort ratting, hauling, etc). And, yes, we are at peace right now, but we've had our share off huge-ass wars in the recent past...

I used to rat in Drone regions in a Hurricane. They were hardly that difficult to kill.
