Hey I was wondering what sort of damage types I should deal against 0.0 serpentis rats. I am heavily skilled in lasers, but if they have the same tanks as guirista I am better off using my (way lower skilled) raven I think....

Ignore the EM stat on your crystals. Choose the ones with the highest therm damage.

but well. I can also fly a raven. If I have to ignore my em atribute , I'll lose about 50 % of my damage (at the best with t2 crystals). Any chance someone knows what the average resistances are from serpentis rats ? That way I can check in eft what I'll like the most.

In a way you can...
True, lasers always deal EM/Therm. But the PROPORTION of EM to Therm damage is NOT FIXED - it vcaries across crystals.
Against Serpentis you want to use crystals that deal maximum thermal damage...which if I recall right are the longer-range ones.
Those will also dictate your range limits, as well.

Kinetic is the best damage to do to serp. But if you go with your lazorz, follow above advice.

Yeah, my bad - got their tank and damage numbers mixed in my head.
I'm minmatar, so it's either phased plasma or phased plasma for fighting serpentis or guristas

Do kinetic damage if your caldari spec'd otherwise i usually go with an apoc and multi's and then move to gamma if using beams. Pulses i prefer multis then scorch. But serpentis a after kinetic more vunerable to thermal so x-ray or gamma or multis are fine.

Actually if you ever followed game developement you would know that some time ago it was thermal. Unfortunately long range hybrid ammo deals more kinetic thus kin/thermal resists on serpentis got swapped around (mostly to help newbie gallente pilots).

yes but ogre II has the highest damage modifier :( that is why people are using it instead of wasp II :(

And people are dead wrong with this. Against high tier batteships (at least those above 1,25m bounty) Wasps will deal more damage than Ogres. Yeah 10% more thermal resist makes that much difference,

People use thermal drones because they do consistent damage to all major faction rats sans Angels. It's the lazy-man's choice.

ok thats bad advise ....
Longer range crystals don't deal more thermal damage in the first place. And even if they did they would deal less damage because multi freq just has higher damage numbers.
And I can use t2 megapulses so it would be conflag I guess.
Or just kin torps with a raven ...
whats the best to use Torpedoes or Cruise Missles ?
