The funniest part of this of all is that it is entirely possible that Goonswarm is preparing the greatest bait-and-switch in gaming history. What do I mean? GÇ£1800 Tornados,GÇ¥ Mittens says, is what the Goons are preparing for use in Jita. It sounds enormous. ItGÇÖs four times as many Tornados as there are for sale, total, in Jita as I type this. ItGÇÖs an investment easily exceeding 200 billion ISK.

A freighter, though, has about 200,000 effective hit-points and Jita is a 0.9 system. I find it difficult to believe that the Tornados will get two volleys, but I know next to nothing about suicide-ganking freighters. LetGÇÖs suppose they do get two volleys off each. A single Tornado volley is good for about 11000 EHP of damage. That means itGÇÖll take nine Tornados to gank a single freighter. That means that 1800 Tornados can gank about 200 freighters. Do you have any clue how many freighters and jump freighters go through Jita?

Here is the least busy time I could find, watching freighters make their way around the Jita system for one hour. This is Tuesday night USTZ, traditionally the least busy time in EVE, from 0000 to 0100 EVE time. I was able to lock 105 freighters in one hour. If youGÇÖre on that list, bang, you lost a freighter or JF.

But weekends are a hell of a lot busier. Last Sunday afternoon, I passed counting 100 freighters after 20 minutes. Snapcount informs me very reliably that there are an average of 7000 more people logged in on Saturday than on a weekday. The Goons have to know this. Which means that even if everything goes perfectly for them, theyGÇÖll exhaust their Tornados in about 90 minutesGǪ tops. ItGÇÖll be a blip. An amazing blip and an orgy of destruction, to be sure, but shorter than an Incursion Live Event. It might very well be over before you could get there to watch, even if you knew exactly what time it was going to start.

WHAT WE NEED FR-PM YOU: Gank fleet -àkirmish Commanders. If we have hundreds of goons and allies for the purgeGÇÜ we w-ûll need teams of approximately 25 Tornadoes operating independently. That requires leaders: our regular FCs can only fill so many slots. Topgoon fcs, Home Defense fcs, Dread Pirates GÇô if you can command 30 men and tell them to press F1 at the right time to alpha a freighter, weGÇÖll need you on deck this weekend.

TORNADO FLEET-à: These will be ganking freighters which are full of goods, not just any freighter. Cargo scan them, find the biggest targets, and pop them.

THRA-àHER FLEETS: It takes 220 Thrashers to kill a freighter. We are not using Thrashers as anti-freighter targets; we are using them to sow completely random terror. Two Thrashers can alpha most T2 frigates. Ten or more can pop industrials of almost any kind with ease. While the Tornado fleets interdict freighters, Thrasher gangs of almost any size GÇô from one angry goon podding anyone dumb enough to expose a pod in Jita, to 30+ taking out Noctii GÇô will run through Jita ensuring that everyone gets to feel the love.

FABUL-PU-à PRIZES: We will be offering all sorts of prizes to the most murderous during the SackGÇÜ not just to -ûndividuals but to membercorps who distinguish themselves by blowing up the most freighters or get the most impressive killmails. These will be announced in more detail as Friday approaches.

The -àack lasts from Friday to -àunday. The goal is indiscriminate terror leading to profitable chaos on the markets. Immediately after the Sack, Hulkageddon GÇô sponsored in large part by our Tech isk GÇô begins. As an aside, Hulks are almost 400m each now, in large part due to Technetium prices, and that price will only rise now that -PTEC is becoming a reality. Tech spikes, more Hulks die, mineral supply is constricted even further, and everyone GÇô save our cartel GÇô suffers for it.
