Originally by: Knave DesOmbres By the time that the M10 character just matches your learning skills and +3 implants, hes used up all of this double speed training. That runs out sometime between 2 and 3 weeks, depending on how your order the training, and if you get implants in early.
Hes also roughly a base 12/12/5/5/5 attribute character ( int and mem high ). Probably sometime in the 1st month, and definately by the end of the 2nd month, he's gonna burn a remap, unless he has minimal/no skills planned for flying ships with weapons. that is, unless hes a machosist.
At that 1st remap, he's likely to go 12/12/5/5/5 again if hes a min/maxer ( per and wil this time ), and try to blow out T2 small/Med guns/missles, along with spaceship command skills for the ship(s) hes gonna want to fly. He will have already completed alot of the module fitting and other support skills just prior to doing this remap.
After a total of 4 maybe 5 months, hell be sitting in a T2 frig T1 cruiser or T1 BS with adequate skills to fit it to run missions or pvp. He might even have T2 cruiser skills, if he skimped on the support skills. He'll likely burn ( or have already burned ) his 2nd free remap to blend out to a not so extreme base skill set, say maybe something along the lines of 10/10/7/7/5, or even to a nearly balanced 9/9/8/8/5 or 8/8/8/8/7. This will leave him much like your stats are, couple higher, couple lower, and cha in the basement.

Meanwhile:
you used your remap on the 10th, after having figured out your skill plan between now and then. over the next 4-5 months, you'll add on at least 8-10 more SP to your total, while ole M10 is following in your footsteps ( learnings ) then getting a ship and fittings ( which you already have ).
your at 3M SP now. of that at least 1.5M ( learnings ) is guaranteed to be useful ( everyone trains them ). if you use half of the other skills youve trained on a regular basis, thats another .75M SP. so, march 10th your 2.25M SP ahead ( maybe more ). while he trains learnings, you add another 1.75M SP of skills useful to you, making 4M total.
So, April 1st ( ish ) M10 can fly, at best, a T1 frigate with basic T1 fittings; your sitting in your BS/T2 Cruiser with good fitting and support skills.
End of the summer, M10 has decent fitting and ship skills, maybe has a T2 cruiser with T1 fittings, or a T1 BS. You've branched out to other races, or gotten T2 fitting and ship skills ( up to BS size ), or whatever else you might want to be more well rounded.

Wow, got long winded there.
Short answer: I wouldn't consider remaking a character that's more then 4 weeks old unless one of the following applies:
1) you ruined his faction standings ( and you care ), and its faster to retrain then to repair ( if you even can repair ) 2) you want to go in an entirely new direction, and most/all of the skills you've trained ( besides learning ) don't translate.
Otherwise, keep the time already invested ( training, grinding corp/faction standings, etc ), remap as soon as its smart to after the patch, and optimize your attributes to your long term plan
nice analysis
I approve :p
