Originally by: Knave DesOmbres if you want optimal benefits from the new system, i would suggest the following:
1) create a new combat pilot now 2) train anything you want to try out that you can finish training and actually test before the 10th 3) dont spend any isk on anything except skills you want to try out. earn and save isk by belt ratting or running lvl 1 missions 4) buy skill books for science and cybernetics 5) transfer all saved isk and items to new character you create on the 10th. stop all training on your current character
while you continue to play your old character to enjoy the game and earn isk, follow the training steps below for your new character
6) train science 3 then cybernetics 4. while this is training, earn any additional isk needed to buy, at a minimum, +4 implants for intelligence and memory, and skill books for basic and advanced learning skills that add to int mem or learning 7) plug in +4 implants ASAP 8) train int/mem/learning skills to basic 4 adv 4 based on evemon optimized plan. while training, earn isk needed to buy +4 implants for perception and willpower ( charisma if you want it ), and basic and advanced learning skillbooks for the per and will ( cha if you want it ) 9) plug in additional implants before training from step 8 is complete 10) train per/wil to basic 4 adv 4 based on evemon optimized plan. 11) determine the optimal attribute set to use for the begining of your new characters career path. adjust stats accordingly 12) start training for your chosen career path
this will allow you to: 1) learn the game 2) enjoy the game while still having an optimized character for long term 3) no skills trained on the optimized character that you do not intend to use in the short term
for details on why i say this, see: M10 character analsys
For the "layman", I wonder if I could bother you for a quick analysis? I would just like to know if I should be happy or depressed with this character post M10. I have an Achura char with approx 3M SP. About half of those SP are in Learning. Doing all the basics to 5 and the advanced to 4 except for Charisma attributes which I will skill up at a later date. Of course I trained up enough skills in between so that I can make isk (get in a Drake and have some decent defenses) and then back to top off the Learning skills. I obviously need to do more research on the M10 but, is this character going to be adequate as far as keeping up with the even newer players than myself as well as the more "seasoned/established" players? My starting Attributes: Int-15 Per-11 Char-3 Will-8 Mem-8 My current Attributes: Int-28.6 Per-16.5 Char-7.7 Will-14.3 Mem-22.0 5 X +3 Implants Thanks for your time and any advice.
