I started this guy maybe 14 days ago or so? Shortly after making him I found out about the upcoming expansion and created a new character on another trial account. From my understanding, I will be able to respec my new account's attributes when the expansion comes out. In anticipation of this I created a character and went VERY heavy into memory and intelligence. My goal is to do the memory/intelligence skills first, then respec to perception/willpower to train skills that require those attributes.
With the attributes that I have currently on that guy I have a significant advantage over this Achura character in memory and intelligence. With my new character I have trained him to 4 in all the base learning skills and 4 in the advanced memory and intelligence skills. I'm going to hold off on advanced willpower, perception until later since I'm not training anything that requires those skills, and I will be able to train them faster once I respec my attributes. Having achieved my memory/intelligence learning skill goal (4/4) I'm now working on the other memory/intelligence heavy skills such as engineering, electronics, etc. Once I get those support skills where I want them, I will respec him to heavy perception/willpower and train up gunnery and train for whichever ships I want. The only things I'm unsure about are:
1. Navigation, since its intelligence/perception, and my perception is fairly low right now. But since intelligence is very high, its probably worth doing these before I respec, but will likely be one of the slower trains that I have to do due to the secondary being lower... The other option would be to save these for my next 6 month respec where I could balance out my skills.
2. Charisma skills. I'm likely going to wait on all of these until much later or not at all. I might grab the first three levels of advanced charisma just because the skill training times of the first three levels aren't htat bad. Probably won't be worth going for level 4 though in advanced charisma unless I decide to push toward command ships or something. If I do that, I'll probably wait for a 6 month respec to do it and go heavy perception for that purpose.
I do have a couple questions (not to hijack the thread, but hopefully it might be helpful to OP.)
Since I have this current achura guy to fly around and blow stuff up, and will be paying for two accounts at least for awhile, I'm not in any rush to respec those skill points to perception/willpower. OK, maybe a little rush, but I can withstand it. :) This character is going amarr -> harbinger -> BS and/or zealot and/or pilgrim eventually (still a bit unsure about what I want after harbinger). I obviously won't be going down those paths until the support skills that are intelligence/memory heavy get trained. And once I respec, training time on the support skills will really slow down making it harder to train them later (unless I wait 6 months and respec again).
So, what memory/intelligence skills should I go for with that long/medium term plan in mind? I'm thinking all the basics to 5, such as electronics, engineering, etc. Especially engineering, energy management, then thermodynamics. Then all the others to 3-4 depending on their usefulness and training time. Shield skills to 3, armor tanking ones to 4 perhaps? Maxing out all the skills to 5s though isn't an option if I ever want to play this character. So which ones should I take to 4s and most importantly 5s? Thanks.
