The ISRC has scheduled the opening exhibition event of the seventh season:
Date: Sunday, 22 February 111 Time: 20:00 EVE Standard Time Race Fee: 5 million ISK Prizes: 1st ISK 30M 2nd ISK 15M 3rd ISK 10M 4th - ISK 5M Starting Region: Metropolis
Details: Pilots will be competing against one another in T1 frigates only. The course will consist of fifteen waypoints. There will be a five million ISK fee for participating in this event, which will contribute towards the prize pots.
Participants will be assigned to either a "Rookie" or a "Veteran" pool by the coordinator. No official teams will be allowed. Once all participants have been assigned, each rookie will choose a veteran partner to race with. At the discretion of the organizer, more than one rookie may be paired with a veteran.
Each rookie-veteran team will race in fleet (voice is recommended) with the veteran guiding the rookie(s) through the race. At the race finish, rookie-veteran teams will be ranked on the performance of their rookies and awards will be split equally to both rookie and veteran.
Racers should arrive in the channel Racing League one hour in advance for the location of the starting position. Information will be gathered for participants up to fifteen minutes prior to the event. If you would like to receive reminder mails of upcoming races, simply join mailing list ISRC RACING. |

I go hiking off grid with no comms for 2 weeks and you start a new season without me. Sounds like the exhibition race was a lot of fun, congrats to Cai and Kaz for the win. I'm almost back to civilisation (they have Galnet access where I am atm anyway) and I should be back in space by Sunday so hopefully I'll make it to the first proper race.
Now where can I find an ammo shop around here...

Helo Iron, nice to have you back!
We may actually have a slight delay now before starting for real. It turns out that KillJoy's spaceliner on Sunday will be delayed and he will not be able to put up the track on time.
So unless we find someone ready, willing and able to set up a season track, you have more time to shop for ammo.
Hugs, and welcome back!

I regret to tell you all that, due to circumstances beyond our control, this event will have to be postponed. We knew there was a chance of delay and, well, it has happened.
We are not working towards 8 March for Race #1. We know that some of you do have issues on that date but some of the ideas in the forums will be adopted so that no one feels disadvantaged about their season.
Cheers,
The ISRC team

Hello there and thanks for your interest in racing
Signing up is easy. If joining by yourself, just show up at 19:00 on the RACINGLEAGUE chat channel; registration costs ISK 1M per race and closes at 19:45; race at 20:00.
If signing up with a team, talk to the team Captain, hopefully days before the race. As of today we have two teams registered (Venture Racing Team, Capt. Thulla Icin; Frontal Impact, Capt. Irongut) with more expected this week and even later.
If signing up a team yourself, send me an evemail with team details (name, 3-letter ticker, captain's name, roster, ISK 5M season fee; optionally logo, description/history)
Now the cool news: you are not too late. You missed an "exhibition race" which basically means everyone still has the same score as you: zero. The first Season race is scheduled for 8 March.
Hope to see you there!
Cheers, Q
Note to self: that was a good question - will include the answer in some of the official stuff.

Edited by: Quintrala on 11/03/2009 00:18:40 CHIBI, 10 March 111 ISRC - holovid, for immediate release.
"ISRC management, staff and racers have witnessed, together with the rest of the cluster, the terrible tragedy affecting millions of souls across known space. The fact that no one could have anticipated... anticipated this, cannot provide any comfort to those hardest hit, their friends and their families.
We believe that comfort in this dark hour can only come from those that can provide any help.
Those of you in our staff that have reported relatives or close friends affected by this tragedy: we stand with you. Please know that ISRC will provide the means to get you and have put travel means at your disposal if you need so, to get to your family or to relocate them.
Those of you working with ISRC that have been out of touch, please follow corporate procedures and contact us. Our people -our family- is our most valuable asset; we need to know if you are OK and if you need any help.
To those of you fortunate to be safe and sound, please keep in touch. All racers are kindly requested to report your personal situation to ISRC: please let us know if you are OK. Although our racing calendar has been fixed a long time ago, we cannot allow ourselves to be indifferent to the huge human toll of today's events.
ISRC will decide as a corporation, no, as a family, what our next steps will be.
In the meantime, our thoughts and prayers are with those afflicted by this tragedy.
Thank you,"

Update from Scuderia Dragonstar.
The entire roster of the Scuderia Dragonstar seems to have survived the event unscathed, as personal safety is concerned. Some members have reported warping or gating issues, with some people even getting stuck entering systems for upsetting amounts of time on the day of the event. Traveling seems to be becoming smoother all around, but is still not perfect.
Also Cai Lun has been spotted in Sinq Laison, chatting amicably in local channels, so at least he is alright as well.

Edited by: Quintrala on 22/03/2009 09:23:39 Hi everyone,
We have decided to postpone the race from originally 22 March, to 29 March.
I feel like I should explain this as we had already started announcing it in evemail. Basically, uh, pod issues happened during the week which would prevent KJ from setting up a track or hosting it. We agreed to still go with the original schedule and his fit crew would do their best to fix the pod stuff, while we held back the announcement a bit...
As of Saturday 21, it is not fixed, so we are a pod, a track and a host short of a full race. We tried. I think it is way too close now to hope it will be fixed, so I am afraid that the race will have to be postponed until next Sunday.
Our apologies to everyone for any inconvenience.
Please enjoy you Sunday. Go exploring. Run a mission. Roam with friends
Cheers!
