anyone out there see the new effects to warp in test server well i have this to say about it
Quote: i joined singularity for the first time since new patch and i got verry ill watching the warp effects. it is an half hour later after quitting and i still feal ill.
im no doctor but i was a nurse and i think i have symptoms prior to siezures. please do not add these effects for i will have to leave eve!
i have to much time invested in eve to quit! please my head hurts and my stomac is turnining and my eyes feel like there are spikes in them.
please do not add this i cant play or test the new patch because i cant handle the effects!!!
does these effects not reduce the quality of game with lag?
if i can make a suggestion to new warp visual make the ship demoleculaize into tiny atoms so we can beem away as light or energy and then at next gate remolecularize a whole again with little static energy, but to not effect the whole screen..
wow i am sick i hope i feel better tomarrow!

Could you whine any more? Seizure? LMAO!!! Yeah right. There's nothing in the new sequence that would induce a seizure. Perhaps you have the flu and it's just starting to kick in.

Also trolling idea/test server threads is just low.

EULA, section 9.
You have been warned. --- Don't take my ranting personally. I may just be arguing the topic, unless you're saying something stupid, and then I mean every word. "Players don't want Variety. They want THE BEST" |

it was not so much when i warp it bother me it was i undocked and all this randome color changes and swirling and sparkels and multiple cyclones randomly moving about.
i almost immediatly got ill.
i was fatigued i was in a room with a yellow light my duel monitors are large.
these can be very good basis for an epileptic attack but i have never known to be ill before till i hoped on sisi but this is no way a lie to get what i want.
i wanted to state my symptoms and see if others share or have otherwise complaints of the overactive effects.

i will take you at your word that you really feel ill.
now i will tell you what the inside cover of every game manual says since the last 90's.
if when playing a game you feel nauseous or ill, consult a physician.
yes, you could ask CCP to change the effects.
or, you could solve your medical condition and never have it bother you again, in this or any other game.
i hope you will choose the latter.

supresant pills do not work on this type of photo enduced sezures.
and prolonged exposure can greatly improve your odds for an attack and reduce your resistances.
if in fact i am correct this game has sequencing and patterns to envoke a sezure. it would be poor for my health to expose to myself further.
this is not a common illness but any players like me will again limit the amout that play eve.
i invest 600 dollars or more a year depending how many game time codes i buy and that is with 1 player 600 less going to development when i have no choice but to leave.
i cant do it... and that illness made me so sick i could not sleep for 4 hours as i was fidgeting from the pain in my eyes.

Maybe you should be responsible for the problems you yourself are causing.

then do not expose yourself. if your illness is as severe as you describe, it is foolhardy in the extreme for you to play video games at all.
if there is honestly no way to manage your sensitivity to photo-induced seizures, stay away from computers all together, you moron.

You always play only after a good night of sleep and only if in optimal physical and mental conditions?
I generally play after work to relax, but that mean that often I am a mentally fatigued. A game is there to make me feel better, not worse.
While I have no problem with the new visuals on Sisi (beside my general dislike for the bright nebula backgrounds) I can see why someone can find it disturbing. Suggesting the Devs through a bug report that a different visual effect or the option to disable the visual effects can be a good idea is exactly why they ask us to test on Sisi.
To the OP: in the Assembly Hall section of the forum there was a thread about visual problems in EVE (some colour contrast that people with visual deficits can't see and so on). You can try to see if it is still active and add your comment to it.

all pitiful excuses.
you tell us you are a man (i would assume a woman would be more logical then this) with a medical condition that causes seizures when exposed to rapid changes in colour and shape.
seizures can be life threatening, especially if noone is there to make sure you are ok.
learn to be responsible. diabetics dont gorge themselves on soft drinks, you shouldn't be playing games. however, your claim to illness is becoming increasingly suspicious, given your responses to peoples suggestions of how you should solve the problem.
someone who really had seizures would understand how serious the problem is, and wouldnt say stupid things like "i should be able to play it when tired". if you really are epileptic, you would know better.

I find the lack of respect for the author disturbing.
I could see nothing in what he wrote about having a medical condition that causes seizures, yet he got ill. This is serious no matter how you look at it. If it can happen to one i can happen to many more and CCP should look at the effects that might have caused it.
Some people are talking about Trolling the forums, the people who only have comments like "you wine to much" or such things are the trolls.
This issue needs to be looked into. The EULA have a seizure warning, but that does not mean EVE should be causing them. Just about all games ive played have that part in the EULA.
Look into this, please.

I suggest that you check out the test server and see for yourself what he is complaining about. There is nothing there that a kaleidoscope doesn't make. Just some shiny streamers in place of the warp tunnel that we used to have. I had epilepsy as a child and know first hand about seizures. I guarantee that this effect should not induce seizures. The OP should go to a doctor instead of complaining here, if he is truly getting sick from it. I suggest that he back up from his large monitors as they are probably the problem and not the effect.

There are many different forms and degrees of epilepsy. I respect this OP for this.
I have one friend who once had a seizure brought on by a simple sparkler.
To top it off, I think the new warp, cloak and jump effects suck anyways!

Im not going to say i agree or disagree with the OP as i havent seen the effects on test. But i can see the point here.
Most games have a way to dull down the affects. And some MMOS i have seen that are much older than eve have very advance settings to dul down visual effects. Its not really a matter of whining. its a matter of adding some user changable settings so as not to lose a portion of your customer base that cant tolerate flashy effects. Eve is rather primative in user controlled graphics settings.
Personally their are some spots in eve i find really annoying sight wise and i will face the opposite direction when fighting in these areas. i doubt im going to have a seizure from it but at the same time it would be nice to be able to dull them down a bit.
Its a shameto have to quit playing a game( and to lose customers on eves end) because of primative graphics settings.
On the other hand if the OP is experiencing symptoms from playing they should consult their doctor on preventative measures.
