Actually, this is a perfectly valid tactic in my opinion. If Oberon took time to prepare for an attack thats time used that wasn't getting used for other things that would have been more useful to your corp. Just because JF war dec'ed a corp doesn't mean they need to all out attack that corp.

Sometimes the threat of attack is just as effective as a real attack.

I have lost three Apocalypse battleships in the last 10 days and all of them in supposedly "safe" travel mode ... this involving 2mwd and 6 warp core stabalisers using instant jump navigation. Whereas I haven't yet lost a battleship in battle mode. You know I think there is a karmic lesson in there somewhere. Admittedly this kill was down to stupidity mostly "don't engage RONA-KIA thoraxes that are obviously traps Jade!" but the two previous were jump-in losses to quick webbifier kills and travel mode just doesn't seem to help.

Simplicity itself when lunacy is your co-pilot. I had equipped the said Apocalypse for travel mode (twin mwd, 6x WCX, half the weapons offline) while travelling from point A to point B on the starmap. The rule of thumb for travel mode is "do not engage".
So I came through a jump and saw a Thorax sitting there with RONA-KIA colours. I knew there were friends of his in the area so can't claim ignorance of reinforcements either. Rather than simply travelling on I targetted the Thorax and blasted its shields away counting on my drones to finish the job. Sadly for something terrible happened when I fired both mwd's (to keep the distance) and my capacitor immediately dropped to zero. The Thorax closed to point blank and locked Nosferatu and web(s)? My capacitiy couldn't rise above zero under the attentions of the Nosferatu beams and my attempt to warp out failed due the webs slowing the alignment time. Another RONA-KIA ship appeared and torpedoed me to death while I was still trying to warp. And that was all she wrote.
Reason for ship death = Stupidly engaging when improperly fitted.

Jade this is one of the most pointless posts you have made todate. This is a lame attempt to try and discredit us.
Hughsey always has done what he wants in game and that is one reason i respect him so much. As stated above he is a RL m8 of half the R-K guys so he is free to put what he like about us in his corp discription. R-K is not scared of your corp we never have and never will be hughsey is one of our members who spends about 1/2 his time in empire space because this is a 0.0 space war we have decided to fight it there not in empire. Due to hughsey being a psycho he needs stuff to shoot and as all our war against us in empire have been retracted he felt the need to withdraw from R-K and play the game the way he wants to play it.
The way he wants to play it is the total destruction of JF. When this war is finished in the outer regions of space i will happly join him in his quest. My reasoning is because of the retarded post that you make like this one. I do not have a fight with the rest of JF but you just draw anger and rage down on your corp.
I am very much looking forward to fighting JF in a empire war but please dont spend your whole time in your traveling setup also some time you might want to think about standing by your corp m8's and not running at the first sign of a fair fight.
Also regarding you Apoc that died Garpy hit you with 1 maybe 2 torps so he hardly counts on the helping to kill you as by your own admission you were warp scrambled webbed and you had 0 cap.. A fly in that situation could have killed you by flying repeatedly in to your ship. What i think you have said is i went up against a pilot that was out of my class and he WTFOWNED me in my apoc Kudos to him and well played. Instead you make up all kinds of lame excuses regarding travel setups

What I find rather confusing still though, is that while it has been claimed numerous times that Hughesy and ôSingle Fighting Forceö have no connection to R-K, there is nonetheless great ideological common-ground and Artegg happily pledges to ôjoinö the ôquestö of this fellow once the war is over.
Ultimately I have my answer though, and its that Hughesy considers himself his own man and wants a fight for the ôfun of itö (as stated in direct comms while we flirted with him last night). RONA-KIA under Artegg is unwilling to make Empire war declarations and prefers to wait until the ôendö of the war to face Jericho Fraction (when we are presumably alone having been abandoned by all our allies right Artegg?)
By the by Artegg continues his à ôthe whole war is JadeÆs fault because she says nasty things about usö line of rhetoric, so that can be consigned to historyÆs dustbin with the rest. Oh and there is some spear-waggling and ôRARR RARR!ö (we are so great) go RONA go! But I lost interest at the part when he re-invented the travelling mode Apocalypse kill as a great and noble test of arms à it was a kill, but hardly a fight since I only fired one round of laser fire and then had no capacity and no speed. I remarked in local ônot my best result everö à and frankly I stand by that comment. Since I've had the courage to admit a total novice mistake (engaging with a utterly inappropriate loadout with multiple hostiles in the area) then least one might think the leader of RONA-KIA could do would be have the grace to accept the honesty of the admission.
But no, even Llebring gets it, but Artegg just isn't able too, the joy at seeing a kill vs his hated nemesis is just too tempting a target for his vitriol.
