Someone please add a page for 'hubris' on the Simple Wikipedia so we can provide a proper reference to educate GoonSwarm members.

Edited by: Roland DesCain on 24/02/2009 15:26:08 Leaving alliance politics aside for a moment - the GoonFleet operation in my mind actually does sell Eve very well - it's immense, complex, uncompromising, and it punishes people if they become lax and complacent.
Love em or hate em GoonFleet achieved a notable success against Band of Brothers and they deserve all the credit for this. Let them enjoy the glory and the publicity.
Because after this, they are the ones everyone will try and pull down. It's ironic that they registered BOB as a corp name because in a very real sense they ARE. Different philosophy, possibly, but they are now top dog and they will be challenged. Just as BOB were.
It's a great sell for the community and I'm glad the BBC picked up on it and gave it some extra coverage. The links to real life events make the game sound more attractive, too.
I mean, EVE predicted Bernie Madoff and Alan Stanford... in a way -

" Quoted from bbc! In January, a player absconded with over 80bn ISK, the game's virtual currency, from an in-game bank. Although the 80bn is only worth a few thousand pounds if exchanged for real money, it represents hours of in-game toil. "
ROFL@ hours of ingame toil, more like years, that ruins the article for me

Grats to both CCP and Goons for providing us with as much drama as BSG Season 4!
Long live EvE -> 6 more years!
