...Corporation recruitment center? Because I've been looking to join one but I don't think I've seen a single pirate recruiter.

Pretty sure a lot of pirate corps have a thread in there, but I doubt that they post in "RECRUIT ME PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZ" threads. Try doing some research and then going and applying directly to the corp you're interested in joining.

You are going to have to look for a pirate corp to join, only really desperate ones are going to be looking for you.

I look in the corp recruitment center all the time. I find lots of good potential wartarget corps in there.

we sometimes recruit from the forums, but normally more headhunting.
we will be opening recruitment again in a week or two though

Generally more serious pirate corps have a low sec home on a junction between high sec and low sec systems. So go to one of these junctions near you and poke around, see if you can get some info. Unless youre a noob, then leave the evul piwates alone, and try not to become their prey

Find Pirate corp you want to join
Go find them in game. Get to know them: this means blow them up- don't smack.
Fleet with them a few times, make sure you are comfortable flying with them.
Ask to join; if you are a good fit for the corp, rejoice! You are now an affiliated pirate.
People often seem surprised that you can pop someone's ship and still be on good terms with them, same goes as far as 'for fun' wardecs are concerned.
Lastly, joining a corp isn't he be-all and end-all, it may just be what you are after is satisfied simply by living in Lowsec and getting to know the locals.

Pirate corps usually recruit on the space. They look for can flipers or griefers and if they like their style, just send a invitation

go to lowsec, kill a pirate corp member in a 1v1, then ask if you can join. Unless you are a total jackass, then they should let you in because you were better than one of their already recruited people.

OP has a fairly decent point, but so does Nexus -_-
I'm currently trying to find a pirate corp that's AU based, not ****, and that will take new characters who don't know everything about PvP but who also aren't idiots -_-
It's harder then it looks, and I'm somewhat reluctant to post in the recruitment forum about it incase I get hit with Intrepid Crossing copy pasta
