what is the problem with Death Squad anyway?
1. You get killed by DS
2. They let you know "you're a target"
3. You get killed again by DS
4. They let you know "you're a target"

5. Killmail + chat logs/mail => CCP. DS is banned for "griefing" (or what is the name of personal pursuit in EULA?).

The issue with the idea of of "breaking Highsec-players routines (for their own good, of course)" is that most of them are mentally so close to the mining/ratting bots they employ that any sudden change to their routine makes them break down.

Highsec is pretty much populated by Kaspar Hausers, except with astroid belts instead of a wooden horse.

It comes off a bit disingenuous to single out 2 people when every non-goon stated the same thing after the fanfest panel. There were others that were calling for permanent bans. He claims this is because they made it political, but the response seems more political than their statements were.
As for the Death Squad, I think using neutral alts as part of the group is pretty ball-less. You want to put fear into people with a squad, but then you're going to hide behind neutral alts like you claim others do? The message seems to be that you're no better than any other high sec griefer wardec corp.
